Last year Vardae, Lyon based producer Cédric Arnous, released the fantastic EP, The Kaipos. It's the debut release for the London based label OODA (Observe-Orient-Decide-Act) - a new label co-founded by Forest Drive West, and localhost.
OODA is focused on polyrhythmic techno, bass, and ambient experiments, and Varade delivers all over on this one. I am really looking forward to what comes next from both the label, and Vardae.

Did you know, the first track ever played on Mantis Radio, way back in May 2007, was F**k With Your Head by DJ Rap (@djrapmusic)?
Nearly 17 years later I'm playing a track from that same time period. The original version of this time track featured on the same album as F**k With..., her 2nd, Learning Curve (Higher Ground, 1998). An album, that whilst you might not have heard (but should), reportedly sold over 1 million copies.
This is BT's remix of her track Bad Girl, also from 1998, and one of 3 released versions BT did of the track. This being his Spoken Progenitor Mix.
Earlier in the 90s, Rap's Charissa Saverio was producing jungle and proto drum & bass, releasing much of it through her label Proper Talent. She was a trailblazer in a very male dominated scene.
With producer Aston Harvey she would write the beautiful and anthemic Engineers Without Fears' track Spiritual Aura (Dee Jay Recordings, 1993). A track I played recently on my weekly radio show Mornings with Darkfloor. It's still a classic.
Long story short, this is still a great track (original + remix) 25+ years later.
