The world has lost another musical icon today. Rest in Peace Jerry Lee Lewis, a pioneer of early rock n' roll, and one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. With his legendary track "Great Balls of Fire," Jerry Lee would kick the door open for artists like Elvis and Carl Perkins, and the wave of '50s rockabilly that would cement itself as the roots of rock today as we know it. The Doors and Jim Morrison were heavily inspired by Lewis.

"Along with many of the early rock singers, Little Richard, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, Gene Vincent, (Elvis] had an influence on me because of the music and the fact that I heard them at an early age when I was kinda ready for an influence. It was a strong influence and they just seemed to open up a whole new world to me." -Jim Morrison, 1968

I'm in the process of buying new lights for the projects I have coming up. Man have I been outta touch.... It used to be Tungsten, and to some degree, tungsten still has it's place. But LED lighting is so much more efficient, and better for what I have planned in the near future. But the choices.. And like anything in the professional world, the price! Dang, 50 bucks to thousands. And what each light does or doesn't is another matter. Boy do I have to re-educate myself. It's fun, but unlike tungsten, there are more choices, and so much more prices and quality issues to deal with. Tota lights used to be the first place to go if you're serious about lighting. Now it's a coin toss. And reviews are useless due to non professionals (in an educated since) supporting gear that when I was really involved would've been laughed at. Not any more!!!! Cross your fingers, through some sage in the air for me, and send me good vibes. Here we go!

WOW a new year! So many thoughts and ideas on what 2020 will bring. I think the main thing is to stay positive and upbeat now, and to keep focused on a new year and not get sucked in to all the negativity that is happening right now. Keep the faith and look forward and not let the past consume or destroy creative ideas and fantasies. Go out and be kind to each other. Be polite, for goodness sake. LOL, seems this quality in people has all but been lost. Remember, it takes very little effort to say "Thank You", and "You're Welcome".
