So while Shivani gifted a Ma Durga painting last week - how could Anandi and Neha stay behind? A prized possession of a holi drawing embellished with stars was presented this week - while SSCF classes have now evolved to digital learning centres equipping the marginalised students of the community to become digital natives of the world, the girls keep showering us with their love hugs and these beautiful jewels. All this in a Sunday serving 100 patients through the medical camp distributing free medicines and a nutritious meal to over 1000 community members. Just another day at SSCF.in

🌱 *Farming meets the future... and I had my very own Captain Kirk moment at Microsoft!* 🌱

Spent an incredible day at the *Microsoft office* in Gurgaon, where *Reskill* organized a hackathon in collaboration with *Agrotech Space* to solve some of the biggest pain points in agriculture—a sector that employs *40% of the workforce*. 💡🌾

Moderated a session with some of the brightest *startups* and *innovators* in the agritech space, while students worked tirelessly to create *AI-based solutions* that could transform farming as we know it. From crop monitoring to supply chain optimization, the ideas were as groundbreaking as they were inspiring! 🚜🤖

But the highlight? My *Star Trek moment* in Microsoft’s futuristic office! Between the button-less lifts, sensor-based loo doors (yes, I struggled!), and a *cockpit-style room* that felt straight out of the USS Enterprise, I was living my best *Captain Kirk* life. 🛸✨ *“Beam me up, Scotty!”*

It’s days like these that remind me how powerful collaboration and innovation can be. Huge shoutout to everyone who made this event possible and to the students who are building the future of agritech. The future of farming is in good hands! 🙌

The first time I met Mantra, I was in awe. Watching him handle the console with ease and go extempore on the mic was pure magic. 🎙️ I remember the late evening at the City studio, with most of the office gone—he ruled the airwaves like a loner, captivating all of Delhi through his evening drive-time show.

A Shiv bhakt no less, the conversations flowed —from philosophy, life, and birthdays :) From observing him perform then to now!

continues to be an enviable artiste—a master not just of his voice but also a phenomenal performer! His best is yet to be recognized!

Since our Radio City days, I’ve remained a proud fan girl—from producing his drive-time show to watching him perform every time he’s in Delhi. Whether it’s Piya Behrupiya , Aladdin, or the latest Chandni Raatein, he never fails to mesmerize. ❤️

Here’s to the magic of Mantra! 🎶

A powerful insight emerged during my conversation with Dr Meenakshi Nayar, सबेरा SABERA Lifetime Achievement Awardee.

When asked about their skills, many women often respond with "Nothing." But is that really the case?

A woman managing a household with minimal resources, ensuring maximum returns, is already demonstrating the core skills of an entrepreneur—financial planning, resource optimization, crisis management, and problem-solving. What they need isn’t ability—it’s belief. A little hand-holding through banking procedures and financial literacy can be the catalyst that propels them forward.

As Dr. Nayar beautifully put it, confidence is the key that unlocks potential.

A winter night out on the roof with the psychedelic lights and DJ playing house- seemed like a visit into the past! These days 8:30 is in bed. But only the super talented could coax me out. And what an artsy (fartsy? I saw a gora wear the aracaria palm leaf on his hat!) affair! Meera’s art is on display at the Brij Villa in SDA till 18th! And if you’re lucky may float by wearing her clouds! Padma’s art preserves our roots and her cuisine is what I look forward to now- agar zinda rahe to milenge ! Ladakh kab tak chup ke rahoge !

Is CSR leaving Rural India behind?

India allocated ₹30,000 crore in CSR funding in the last financial year, yet rural areas received only a fraction. Most corporations focus their efforts near operational hubs—Bengaluru, for example, ranks 4th in CSR spending, but 90% of these funds stay within the city itself.

How can we ensure rural India gets its fair share of CSR investments?
In our latest conversation, Rajesh Krishnan, CEO of United Way Bengaluru, shares insights on Rural Rising, an initiative to channel CSR funds where they are needed most. As part of this, they are also driving behavioral change through innovative communication, a strategy that earned them सबेरा SABERA jury recognition for their nutrition program for Wayanad’s tribal communities.

It was great to have Mitali Nikore, SABERA Awardee for Emerging Think Tank of the Year 2024 and founder of Nikore Associates, featured on the Impact Leaders podcast.

Mitali's work in gender mainstreaming and her research-based solutions for offsetting the costs of parental leave through insurance covers are potentially pathbreaking innovations.

Hearing her perspective on SABERA and how the platform drives real impact for those working towards social good was inspiring.

Who would have thought that by amplifying Voices of Impact, the same voices would start rooting for सबेरा SABERA in return?

This conversation reinforced the belief in the power of collective good.

There’s been so much chatter about the Mahakumbh that it’s hard not to reflect on my own experience. In 2013, I attended the Kumbh at Prayagraj, then known as Allahabad. We stayed at an akhara, thanks to a friend’s reference, and were immersed in the Vedic chants of batuks. These children from marginalized families, unable to afford schooling, were sent to learn for immediate sustenance and long-term work as priests.

We met a PhD scholar managing the main shrine near the Bade Hanuman Mandir. The experience of visiting the mandir itself was surreal – it felt like floating amidst the immense crowd, with feet barely touching the ground. The crowd was overwhelming, with lost and found children and older folks being a common occurrence! My rational concerns about the hygiene of the sangam dip were overshadowed by the overwhelming faith of the devotees. I didn’t want to regret not taking the dip while I had the chance.

Much has changed since then, with organized camps and luxurious tents. However, I’ve come to realize that the true Triveni Sangam lies within us. My guru explained that the balance of Ida and Pingala reveals the Sushumna – the sangam between the brows, similar to the confluence of the Ganga, Jamuna, and mystical Saraswati.

The Kumbh, to me, represents an exchange of knowledge – individual experiences shared collectively, much like modern-day conferences. The wisdom of ancient civilizations remains unparalleled and worthy of preservation.
..Recently, I revisited Prayagraj and sat in silence next to the holy rivers just silently observing as the afternoon turned into evening watching the preparations. I was thrilled to be chosen to perform the arti at sunset.

And that’s when it hit me - the true essence of the Kumbh isn’t in the crowds or the rituals, but in the connection we make with ourselves.

May we all find that connection!
