Well friends just to update you. I am 4 weeks post op today and my knee is feeling much better! My belly on the other hand has been other news since late Friday evening. I wasn’t able to keep anything down and ended up in the ER on Sunday afternoon which resulted in an overnight stay (they wanted to keep me again but that’s a story for another time) they were finally able to get things under control with anti nausea meds and 7 bags of IV fluids …yes 7 …I was severely dehydrated. Today is okay and I’ve been able to eat a few crackers and toast today,
First “food” since this all started. Really hoping to be back at creating soon and let me tell you the things that are coming from Chalk are amazing! At least I got sick after the preview of what’s to come!

ChalkCon May look different this year being virtual but worked out perfect for me since I wouldn’t be able to travel. I do miss my chalk family and friends but exciting things coming this Autumn collection! Me tuning in from my living room couch. Things are better everyday but still dealing with nerve pain which really decides to spike in the evenings so it’s messing with my sleep. Hello friends and happy Sunday. This has been my current view most of the time. Nurse Lenny has been doing a great job making sure I’m fed, medicated, hydrated and get up and move. I knew these first couple weeks would be tough and here I am not quite to week 2 and yes …it’s been tough. I did go to the doctor on Friday and he is pleased with my progress and had the wound vac removed. Back next Friday to check the incision and progress. Thanks for all the messages, text and calls asking how I am doing. Before we know it …I’ll be back sharing what I love! 💛

comfort zone and trying a few new things. Last night was a paint stick swag! Not perfect and maybe a bit pear shaped. As much as we loved the big bow ..think it needs replaced with a bit smaller to balance it out. What do you think?

It’s A Chalk Thing

Hello and Welcome to my page.

My name is Mary DeBruyn and I am glad you are here. A little about me, I am married to my junior high crush and together we have 3 girls and 1 grandFish! (Our grandsons name is Fisher) We both had previous lives that lead us on a different path but we reconnected in 2011 and married in 2015. We currently live in Aiken, SC but I grew up in Florida a few blocks from the beach and river. I love the water! I do miss that here but I love that we have “seasons” where in Florida I was used to “hot, Hotter, really hot and once in a blue moon a little touch of cool.” I have always loved all things crafting and when I moved to SC I was not able to go back to a corporate job due to many travels back and forth to Florida where I was still very involved in my mothers care. When things started to settle down I wanted to find something that I could do at home, loved but also flexible if I needed to jump in the car to Florida. I was trying to decide whether to dust off my cricut, upgrade or buy a silhouette.

I then discovered Chalk Couture through a Facebook post. After a little research I decided to become an independent designer. I fell in love with the products before I had even touched them. I am excited for this opportunity and look forward to sharing it with all of you! Chalk Couture offers high quality products which enables people of ALL levels of crafting to create beautiful finished projects, home decor and gifts. Our products include our signature porcelain coated magnetic gallery boards, in addition to many other budget friendly surfaces. Our reusable Chalk transfers let you peel, stick and paste your way to perfection in minutes. We offer a beautiful palette of Chalkology paste and Couture Inks to be used with our transfers as well as all the accessories to allow you to create with ease.
