Hello friends! I am not dead. I am alive and kicking. I have been doing video and music production in a new studio and have more work then I can handle. I very much look forward to doing "Stairway to Reason" content, I miss it, and I most certainly will be back at it in full swing. I am predicting within 2 or 3 months these current projects will be wrapped up and things will slow down in the studio like they always do. I do not miss being a child, but I certainly do miss the memories. At this point, I really don't even mind the bad ones. I want them. I want them all. In fact, I've never been fond of losing them. However, I do very much enjoy searching. I don't have old photo albums or any memorabilia from my childhood like many folks do. Rather, for me, I have to look for what is preserved in the depths of my mind. Deep in the ocean of my own first person experiences.
Are you aware of just how little time most people will spend swimming down deep to the bottom of our minds? When was the last time you sat in silence, alone, and began directing your thoughts inward... backwards... to the old places you once traversed? Those old streets and faces you once knew? It's fascinating just how much you can recall with little to no effort. As you begin your deep dive, people and places will reappear in your minds eye often with stunning clarity. The older I get the more I find myself longing for and taking this plunge, this inward journey, and every time new memories will surface. It’s almost as if those memories are all there, never gone, but reside down in a deep dark abyss. As I go down, head first, deeper and deeper with a little flashlight, they are disturbed, released, and bubble up to the surface. It's a fantastic voyage. At least for me it is. Even my darkest moments seem not to hurt anymore. My scars have all grown calloused. I don't fear anything from my past as I did when I was living through it. I only wish to look at it and reflect on what made me who I am today. But I'm not telling the whole truth. I will need to explain.
There is one thing that hurts. It's not the time that I broke my collar bone or got caught at school with paraphernalia. It's the people I have lost. Important people. People who provided me with experience or maybe even love. Missing somebody. Losing somebody. As I open and release these memories, I can still feel that old familiar pain. However, it is a pain I have long since learned to accept. We lose people in this life. That is final. In fact, it is the final page of everyones book. No amount of shaking your fist up at the heavens or getting on your knees will change this for anyone, anywhere, on this small blue marbled planet. This acceptance has been the path to maintaining a peace as I continue on with my journey, and often times finding myself alone. It's ok. I myself will also depart and leave all behind. So accept and embrace all of the loss and hurt. And why not? Should I instead hide or dull myself with drugs and alcohol? No. Not for me. I treasure sobriety. So I go swimming, deep down, anytime I feel the pull of the currents, and I fear nothing that I might find down there. These days I am finding myself longing for the journey more and more. Sometimes night after night I eagerly await til I can jump back into the depths and uncover more memories, people and places I forgot I had ever been or met. I use to think that perhaps I should be pulling out a pad and pencil, but na... It’s all there... every time... waiting for me. A deep and expansive ocean where I never run out of air.

Hello Friends! I am alive and well. My main computer has burned out... It worked too hard for too long. I am currently working on a replacememnt and am sorry for the great delay of content. We should be up and running again soon!

As I grow older I really begin to understand just how much more, and profoundly more wise I have become. I always heard about this as a young man and just chalked it up as an old wives tale. At 30, how could I become any more knowledgeable about life? Well, the 30 year old me and the 47 year old me are vastly different. Im not the same person. In fact, I am now much more wise in general concerning all things. And so we say to ourselves often, "Boy, I sure wish I could go back knowing what I know now."

So what would I say to that younger self if I could? What do I know now that is so superior? Well, there would be a lot, but let me get to the most urgent message. Here is what I would say.
“Young man or lady, never seek pleasure.”

Ok... What?... You might be asking?... Never seek pleasure? Are you crazy?... Thats not very wise!

Oh, but yes it is! Never seek pleasure, instead, only seek accomplishment. Let me help you understand. When you seek pleasure, it will be fleeting. This is the kind of pleasure that is like sand in your hands and very hard to hold onto. It is also stealing your time away from accomplishment. But when you seek accomplishment, pleasure will then begin to seek you. You wont have to look for it, or spend your time trying to find it. When pleasure begins to seek you, this is the kind of pleasure that is like clay in your hands. The staying kind.

Now of course this is generally speaking my friends. Nothing should be taken to the extreme, however, take this general rule and apply it to your life. It's never too late. Stop seeking pleasure, and instead seek accomplishment because pleasure is the by-product of accomplishment. You wont have to seek for it.

Hello friends I have been away on a short production job as a video and sound engineer and have not been at my desk to do my regular postings. Taking this opportunity has been a good choice for me but it will reach its end in just a week or two more. I do have exciting new projects for Stairway to Reason ready to go including a call in center ready to take live calls for a "Call-in-show!" Im very excited about this! Some of you may have seen the test I ran about a month ago. Everything is set and ready. I hope you all have been doing well and if you have missed me, no worries, I will be back in about a week, possibly two at the longest, and will be bringing you new and fun content!
