Now that we're back in Uganda i’m super excited to create more content revolving around the different cultures and traditions that this beautiful country encompasses!
I met Shongz in 2017 when I was doing a roadtrip in Karamoja. He is a talented musician, who is proud of his K'Jong roots. Evelyn is one of his long time friends who is also dedicated to celebrating her origin. When I suggested to do a sunset golden hour shoot to show off their traditional attire, they jumped at the opportunity.
The temptation of modernization is diluting African traditions around the continent. So when I see young people who embrace technology yet uphold and appreciate their culture, I find it extremely inspiring and it gives me hope.
I’ll be in Uganda for the next 5 months, working on a couple of projects around the culture. If you have an idea that involves capturing cultures that you love, hit me up and let us make magic together ✨
