Background
Although widely interpreted as being about infidelity, the song was in fact composed by lead singer Paul Carrack upon discovering that bassist Terry "Tex" Comer had been secretly working with the Sutherland Brothers and Quiver.
The guitar solo is by lead guitarist Phil Harris. Alan "Bam" King was the band's rhythm guitarist, formerly with the Action. Lead vocals are by Paul Carrack.

Musique was a studio project by Patrick Adams, best known for the song "In the Bush". It consisted of five singers, Christine Wiltshire, Angela Howell, Gina Taylor Pickens, Mary Seymour and Jocelyn Brown.
Recorded originally as a "low budget" project at Bob Blank's Blank Tape Studios in New York City (the tracking session was completed in four hours), the album Keep On Jumpin' contained only four cuts: "Keep On Jumpin'," "Summer Love," "In the Bush" and "Summer Love Theme. Adams, known for his arranging, wrote the horn section parts as the studio musicians sat waiting. Those musicians included Skip McDonald and Doug Wimbish, who were among the musicians later responsible for much of the backing work at Sugar Hill Records before teaming up to become known as Tackhead in the 1980s, collaborating with Adrian Sherwood on numerous works on his label ON-U Sound in England.
Due to the overtly s*xual lyrics of "In the Bush" many radio stations banned it when it was released during 1978. Because of limited airplay it only scored No. 58 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 29 on the Black Singles Chart, although it did top the Hot Dance Club Play chart along with the second single, "Keep On Jumpin'". It also reached No. 16 on the UK Singles Chart in December 1978. Their second big hit, "Keep On Jumpin'", was another club success, peaking at No. 1 on the Disco and Hot Dance Club Play chart. The song crossed over to the urban market and peaked at No. 81 on the Black Singles chart.
Musique's debut album peaked at No. 62 on the Billboard 200 chart. The vocalists on the first LP, Keep On Jumpin', were a pre-solo-career Jocelyn Brown, Angela Howell, Gina Tharps and Christine Wiltshire. On the second LP, Musique II, released in 1979, Mary Seymour, Denise Edwards and Gina Taylor took the lead vocals. Both albums were released on the Prelude Records label. "Glide" and "Love Massage" became another successful club hit, but failed to cross over to either the R&B or pop markets.
Musique was thought to have broken up in the early 1980s but they have continued to perform. Adams continued to be an in-demand record producer.

Keith Marshall was the fresh-faced, gifted lead guitarist of undistinguished glam rock band Hello who neatly wangled for himself a brief solo career afterwards.
Marshall and his three bandmates were all just 15 when they formed Hello in 1971, and still not out of their teens by the time they’d enjoyed their two Top 10 hits. On splitting after Polydor dumped them in 1979, Marshall wasted no time in re-signing with the same label as a solo artist.
He issued a number of singles that established him as a new star in Europe before switching to smaller label Arrival, where he released his self-titled debut album and the single Only Crying, a low-profile, slow boogie affair with sea breeze sound effects and Marshall’s reflective, bookish vocal, never raising beyond library volumes.
The key change comes with a lilting guitar solo and, while at some levels it lacks beef, it’s likeably poignant. It didn’t take long to succeed either; it was in the Top 40 after just a fortnight in the shops and peaked at No.12 in May 1981. Neither the album or the three other singles from it charted and Marshall spent the remainder of the decade enjoying his stardom on the mainland.

Starbuck was a rock band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1974 by keyboardist/vocalist/record producer Bruce Blackman and marimba player Bo Wagner. Both Blackman and Wagner, along with guitarist Johnny Walker, had previous success with Mississippi-based "sunshine pop" group Eternity's Children, scoring a Billboard Hot 100 hit with "Mrs. Bluebird" in the summer of 1968. Wagner worked as a studio musician in Los Angeles in the early 1970s, appeared on The Lawrence Welk Show, and played drums for the extravagant pianist Liberace.
Starbuck's debut single, "Moonlight Feels Right", reached the No. 3 position on the Billboard Hot 100 singles charts in 1976. Although the band never re-created the success of their debut, several of their songs did chart in the Billboard Top 100, and their 1977 release "Everybody Be Dancin'" reached No. 38.
From 1976 to 1980, the band toured with popular groups of the era, including Electric Light Orchestra, KC and the Sunshine Band, Hall & Oates, England Dan & John Ford Coley and Boston. TV appearances included The Midnight Special, American Bandstand, The Merv Griffin Show, Dinah!, The Mike Douglas Show, and Solid Gold.
The band was briefly known as Korona in the early 1980s, getting one Hot 100 hit in 1980, "Let Me Be," which reached No. 43 in April.
In July 2013, a number of former Starbuck members (founders Blackman and Wagner, guitarist Tommy Strain, keyboardists Sloan Hayes and David Shaver, bassist Jimmy Cobb, and drummer Kenny Crysler) performed at Chastain Park in Atlanta.
The group also reunited once more for their final performance on August 20, 2016, with the same lineup as their previous reunion concert in 2013. In 2022, 12 new songs were released by Bruce Blackman on the album Starbuck 2022.

"Live It Up" was written by Mental As Anything keyboardist and singer Greedy Smith. Smith did not initially think the song would be a hit when he wrote it, but became more confident as the song was completed; he explained, "You know when I felt that was going to be a hit? When we finished mixing it. It took about half an hour to write in my head. But then two years to get it right. We had no idea of how big it would be."
After the song's success, Smith did not seek to directly replicate its style. He later said, "it's not about duplicating the song, you have to duplicate all the conditions around it. After a hiatus for most of the 1990s and 2000s, Doroschuk reformed the band in 2010, and released Love in the Age of War (2012). The group, based in Vancouver, has continued to perform, including tour dates announced in support of the release of two studio albums, Men Without Hats Again (Parts 1 & 2), in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

Dirty Mind is the third studio album by American singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Prince. It was released on October 8, 1980, by Warner Bros. Records and produced entirely by Prince at his home studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota earlier that year from May to June. Dirty Mind has been considered by critics to be his most creative and boldest album, setting the standard for his artistic direction in the following years.
A fusion of post-disco, new wave, funk and dance, Dirty Mind has more punk sounds than Prince's previous albums. Prince’s high and feminine vocals, along with his androgynous image during the album's era, has been commended. Controversially, the album's theme is fueled by explicit topics including oral s*x, threesomes, in**st, and ej*******on, which has been credited for opening the doors for s*xually explicit albums in the coming years.
The first single of Dirty Mind, "Uptown" reached number five on both the Billboard Hot Soul Singles and the Billboard National Disco Action Top 30 charts. Though the album only reached number 45 on the Billboard 200, it earned widespread acclaim from music critics and crossover success. Due to its fusion of genres, critics have hailed it for setting the sound for urban black music of the early 1980s. The album has been ranked by several publications as one of the greatest albums of all time.

Jaten Dimsdale, known by his stage name Teddy Swims, is an American singer-songwriter, known for blending genres including R&B, soul, country, and pop. Originally attracting fans through his cover performances on his YouTube channel, Swims released his debut major label single in January 2020. He has since released four EPs as well as a debut album I've Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1) in 2023.In August 2021, Swims released his single "Simple Things" which he performed on The Late Late Show with James Corden in September and Today in November.
After releasing his single "911", Swims released his six-track EP Tough Love in January 2022. Swims performed "Love for a Minute" on Late Night with Seth Meyers in January, and "911" on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in February.
