It always depends on who you are asking, but according to many 1980s fans, this is a classic ;-) It was included on Secret Service's "Aux Deux Magots" album, and of course also released as a single in 1987. By then the composer trio Norell-Oson-Bard (Tim Norell and Ola Håkansson of Secret Service, together with Alexander Bard of Army of Lovers) had started to conquer the Swedish charts and you could say this was the beginning of the end for the era of Secret Service. From now on there was more focus on writing, producing and promoting for the core members of the band.
Stormby is the moniker of Matt Eriksson, based in London, but very much another Swede in this project. He's had music featured on shows on Bravo, HBO, Disney Channel, Vh1 as well as producing music for several US, UK and Scandinavian artists (including Sinitta, Rozalla, Magnus Carlsson, Hazell Dean, Leila K...) - and, he's also the mastermind behind the synthpop act Amelia's Fault.

"When The Night Closes In" is the title track from the fifth Secret Service album (1985), and one of their most successful singles in central Europe during the 80s. Check out the several TV performances and video clips online.
Finkseye is a one-man project by Henrik Fink Nilsson. The debut album "Deadweight" was released in 2016 and the follow-up "Under A Godless sky" is out any day now. Finkseye is labelled as a mixture between darkwave, EBM and industrial, but personally I prefer the description as a "sonic landscape artist". The Finkseye interpretation of "When The Night..." is truly one of a kind, unique and intriguing.

"Bring Heaven Down" is another quite unfamiliar song from the Secret Service catalogue. It was included in the movie "Ha ett underbart liv" (1992) and the soundtrack was also used as a promo for Ola Håkanssons new label Stockholm Records. The song wasn't released anywhere else, and didn't get any attention at all - Secret Service was unfortunately not a name for the charts in 1992. In 2000 it appeared on the compilation "Top Secret".
GLAS appeared out of nowhere in the late spring of 2017. The band consists of Helena Wigeborn (also in Train To Spain), Peter Johansson and Christian Bayard, but when they uploaded their first songs online, nobody knew. The secrecy and the surprise made fans of Swedish synth pop (like myself) go wild, and the EP "110 slag i minuten" became an instant classic on it's release. A debut album is to expect during 2018, but first enjoy this, their first (and only?) song in English.

"Fire Into Ice" was included on the Secret Service album "Cutting Corners", released in 1982. It could be considered being the band's most 'synthpop' moment, together with "Flash In The Night", which also was on that album. Probably that's the reason why it was one of the 'most wanted' songs by the artists to cover for this tribute. Octolab got the mission, after landing quite a success with their previous cover of Uffe Söderbergs "Fallen ängel" for the Shanghai-tribute.
Octolab is Arielle Andersson and Fredrik Lundvall Kindsäter, residing in Lysekil on the Swedish westcoast. They released their debutalbum "The Timeless Room" in 2007 and 10 years later the long awaited follow up finally appeared. The EP "...To Be Continued" was preceded by the song "Caravan", accompanied by a very attentive zombie video, with Arielle and Fredrik in the leading roles.

"Where The Wind Blows" might be one the more unfamiliar Secret Service songs of this tribute, even for most of the fans. It was included on the "Aux Deux Magots" album in 1987 and wasn't released anywhere else. Now we are given a new opportunity to get to know it, light and fresh - perfect for the coming summer.
Stockholm Nightlife is a pop collective based in Stockholm, lead by Michael Paulsson, a music and media teacher who always have a new project in mind. They have released a couple of singles since the debut in 2014, most succesful so far are "Stay One Day" (featuring Nathalie) and "I Wanna Know" (featuring Erika). On this cover we hear Eliza K aka Elisabet Karlsson on vocals.

"L.A Goodbye" was the follow-up to Secret Service's pan-European hit single "Flash In The Night" in 1981. Although not getting even close to the success of its precedor, it still became a classic, and is today very popular when the band performs live.
047 is a Swedish band (Sebastian Rutgersson & Peter Engström), starting in 2001 and originally housed in the bitpop genre. Their recent album "?" (2017) solely consisted of collaborations with indie acts like Christian Kjellvander, Charlee and Maj Monet, combining the electronic soundscape with the unique style of each artist.

"Don't You Know, Don't You Know" was released by Secret Service on 7"/12" in Sweden, picked from the album "Aux Deux Magots" (1987). It was included in the popular teen movie "PS. Sista sommaren" (1988), and it was also released by Ankie Bagger in 1989.
Jesper Jelse was the singer in Swedish pop duo So What, most known for their 1989 hit "I Was Lucky". The group went their separate ways in the early 90s and this is Jesper first official release since 1994, celebrating the 30th Anniversary of So What's recording of "I Was Lucky".
RetroTeque is the moniker of producer and song writer Magnus Carlsson, known as member of the Swedish synth pop act Candide. As RetroTeque he has done several remixes and productions for Italove and also some to be released from Australian artist Peter Wilson.
