We’re tooting our horns about these holiday graphics for the San Francisco Symphony. So cool to see how motion design elements were scaled out to OOH posters and bus banner.

Motion design studio BIEN led on the campaign’s art direction, melding a classic holiday feel with a sleek, modern style

Happy Birthday to one of the many that chose to stand up for themselves in the face of adversity, and became the face of simply saying "no."

We hope she and all that came before her continue to inspire everyone to make a stand for themselves and others, and to speak openly about injustice.

Happy Rosa Parks Day!

This idea is a brainchild of our senior producer: who did her due diligence researching Rosa Parks.

As the Year of the Tiger approaches, we have been noodling over the power of the Tiger personality and how we can all 'Be The Tiger' in this coming year.

The Tiger represents confidence, authority and never backing down from a challenge. Whether that be protecting and caring for those close to you, getting involved in a grassroots movement for social change or practicing InMoDe, the New Year creates new opportunity to jump claws out into what is meaningful.

You don't have to be born in the Year of the Tiger to Be the Tiger 🐅 💥 !

When we were brought on the case to design the show package for Disney Animals through the lens of another Disney Junior show, "Mira, Royal Detective", we went through 15 iterations of the logo before finding the right look.
Wander with us through our design journey and watch how the logo evolves. Starting with the result first!

If you are still reading this, please write to the Getty Museum to make an episode on... Reading? :)⁣⁣

Last but not at all least, we are celebrating our newest member of the BIEN team, Ally Schuman! From her hometown in Augusta, Georgia she has traveled extensively making long-term stops in France, Sweden, Wyoming and back to France!

Her winding path has led her to LA where she now resides.

As far as favorite foods go, she has to endorse Poké. as it “It has all the best parts of sushi but you can eat it with a fork and it wouldn't be weird.”

When looking for inspiration she turns to the greats, “there are so many talented artists out there and seeing something I love (but I might not be able to do yet) inspires me to work hard.”

In her free time she can be found trying a new HIIT class, challenging friends to a casual game of tennis or a not so casual game of beach volleyball. When not seizing the day, she also “loves relaxing” and “developing personal projects.”

A fun fact and some wisdom from Ally—“I’ve never broken a bone! Living cautiously is key my friends.”

Andrea Gendusa is our newest illustrator and animator here at BIEN. He was born and raised in Turin, Italy but now lives in Barcelona.

“As an Italian guy, my favorite food is ... pizza! No to stereotypes! I don’t have a favorite food; I think food is all good as long as it’s cooked with love. So when I had to choose my career, I debated whether to become a chef or a designer. Eventually, one became my passion for work; the other remained a passion for fun.”

Andrea spent many years looking for inspiration from the outside, especially in the world of design. “This led me to move away from my authenticity and criticize myself, so I decided to stop looking outside and started looking inside. My new source of inspiration has become my soul that vibrates when something resonates with it.”

My favorite creative thing to do is to create projects by mixing different software/techniques but keeping the same graphic aspect. It stimulates me to find alternative ways or learn new things in each project, always trying to get out of my comfort zone a little. That’s how I keep myself motivated.

How’s it goin’ everybody? Today we get to celebrate our talented Animator and Designer, Ale Imondi! Currently he lives in Unquillo, Argentina where he moved to escape the bustle and noise of Cordoba City.

However, plans may soon take him and his family to live in Germany!

As a good Argentinian, one of his top foods is Asado, meat that has been barbecued on a grill. However, as an equally good grandson of Italians he also loves a traditional pizza slice.

Ale is most inspired when out in nature, hanging out with his kids, cooking, baking or connecting with the larger motion graphic community, who in his words “push me to overcome my boundaries.”

While he frequently can be found biking, trekking and mountain climbing with his kids, he also knows the value in taking it easy from time to time. “I also enjoy the weekends, lying on the sofa and watching some Netflix.”

Some fun facts about Ale—“Once I start a book or series, I need to finish it no matter how boring or bad it is.”

Good afternoon people of Facebook, meet Deanna Reilly. She’s one of our amazing illustrators and animators. She’s originally from Ontario, Canada, now living in Dublin, Ireland. “In 2007, I jumped at an opportunity to live in Dublin. I thought it might be a 1–2-year adventure, but I loved the city and the people so much I decided to stay!”

Her favorite food is Poutine. “Because Canada, eh?”

When asked about what inspires her: “My husband and son. Their hilarious antics are a constant source of playful ideas. I also find inspiration in nature, traveling, and immersing myself in new cultures. Embracing serendipity is the best way to get inspired.”

She loves experimenting with 3D. “Combining 2D motion with 3D is joyous for me. I think it’s because there’s so much uncertainty in the process. The unexpected results can be very rewarding.”

Outside of work, Deanna loves playing with Legos with her son, going to heavy metal gigs, and “having the craic” with friends in the pub.

What’s up, Instagram? We want you to meet Alisha Hawkins, our Senior Producer. She is a NC native and now lives in Raleigh.

Alisha is super inspired when people truly have a passion for something. “To see someone pour their soul into something, be it work or a hobby, is genuinely amazing.”

With a background in live-action production, her favorite creative outlet is being on set. “I absolutely love being with the crew and making the difficult happen. I get a definite sense of accomplishment looking at a completed piece and thinking about the pieces of the puzzle I helped put together.”

Some fun facts about Alisha—“I can recite every line to the movie “Wayne’s World” from memory.”
