Voyage of the Loom - our Spring-Summer '24 collection is a narrative of storytelling, a quest for the world's most exceptional silk and wool weavers. Our journey led us deep into the heart of West Bengal, where we met a village steeped in the timeless tradition of silk weaving. Here, we bore witness to the entire silk-making process, from the delicate art of spinning to the vibrant dyeing techniques and the intricate hand-loom weaving.

Venturing further into the serene Himalayan town of Nagar, we discovered women who wove their own life stories into wool. From shepherds tending to their sheep, to the meticulous craft of wool spinning, natural dyeing, and the rhythmic hand-loom weaving, their commitment to maintaining this artistic tradition radiates in every weave.

In Kenya, we expanded our horizons, developing our own hand-woven cotton motifs, capturing the summery essence of the season in vibrant stripey hues. We revived a treasured heirloom knitted set, collaborating with the very artisans who crafted my grandmother's piece 30 years ago. These skilled women now adorn our silk dresses with intricate embroidery details.

Our woolen coats, silk dresses and knitted sets bear witness to these extraordinary journeys, weaving together tradition, artistry, and storytelling. Explore the collection featuring Hamaji's iconic, free-flowing silhouettes and 70's-inspired cuts. It's an invitation to embark on a voyage where fashion becomes a tapestry of history, culture, and the artistry of artisans around the globe. Welcome to a season where each garment is a testament to the timeless narratives woven into every thread.

TAPPING INTO THE MIND OF LEZANNE VIVIERS .studio , in conversation about her sustainable, yarn-focused collection.

It’s a feast for the senses – and for the soul. KARROO, LAND OF THIRST was first presented in February (as part of the official Milan Fashion Week calendar) and more recently, at South African Fashion Week.

The collection is lensed through a series of landscape photographs, taken by Johannesburg-based clothing designer and artist (and founder/creative director of VIVIERS), on her road trips through South Africa.

What do you know and apply now that you have found your calling and have found a path or way to turn that into your reality?

“Lol fashion calling. I think the most important thing is just to actually do whatever it takes. If
you have an idea, you have to make it happen as a designer. You have to design your reality however fantastical that reality is.”

Having graduated from the Stadio Fashion School formerly known as LISOF, how
did your social and family life contribute to your career choice?

“I have a loving family that supported me even if they didn’t understand what I was doing, which allowed me to open many doors and try many things. With that exploration I found fashion and styling and I’m really excited to find other things and continue exploring other ways I can use as expression.”
