Friction Publishing: Friction Publishing encompasses a monthly a music, poetry & art paper dedicated to supporting and promoting the arts in Fayetteville...the poets, the artists

, the bands, the fans & the venues! As well as, a music division that in cooperation with Rebel Roots Studio is working on a compilation to be released in 2014….and in cooperation with Cinsound Media awards a monthly two song Demo to a local band as part of our “Making a Monster” Program. FORMAT FOR FAYETTEVILLE FRICTION: FRICTION as a publication is foremost to PROMOTE LIVE ORIGINAL MUSIC, POETRY and ART; that will always take priority over advertising and other forms of entertainment. The majority of articles are related to EVENTS happening in FAYETTEVILLE in the MONTH of publication as a way to promote these events. We also promote local artists and local businesses that support and promote art and music! OTHER PROGRAMS:

• WEBSITE: www.ncFRICTION.com a place that links out partners in keeping the music alive as well as provides a link to our current issue of Fayetteville Friction, a venue list for bands, a calendar of events and links to our various other programs.
• FRICTION EVENTS: Planning & funding events to promote music and art in Fayetteville.
• FRICTION SPONSORSHIP: Putting our skills to work for others in an effort to bring/support and promote the best in art and music in Fayetteville.
• PUBLICITY: Electronic Press Kits and logos designed for bands and artist; and social media promotions.
• FRICTION ACTION TEAM: A group of people dedicated to promoting and supporting live music in Fayetteville that meets once a week to share ideas and make plans.
• STREET TEAM: Our dedicated staff, Friction Action Team, friends and family take to the streets twice a month to distribute promotional material for anyone that gets it to us!
• FRICTION “Making A Monster” Program: A two song demo awarded monthly to a local band in cooperation with Cinsound Media to be featured on a future compilation.
• ADOPT A BAND: Matching touring bands with Host families for a night, promoting a feeling of home and family for bands on the road and making Fayetteville a place they want to come back to.
• FRICTION YOUTUBE “Video Minions”: A network for fan based video submission of local music and art events in cooperation with Cinsound Media.
• VENUE LIST: A free list of venues both in Fayetteville and Nationwide available to anyone and downloadable from the website.
• COMPILATIONS: Compilations featuring local & touring musicians recorded and released.
• FRICTION “The Monologue” Blog: Blog to connect to the website and be made available to local artist/writers/smartasses.
• FRICTION RADIO: A 24/7 Web-based radio station.
• FRICTION DUNGEON: Monthly Podcast of Local Acoustic Acts.
• FRICTION Phone App: A phone application that instantly gives you up to date info on what to do in Fayetteville. ORANGE: In the works…

CURRENT PROJECTS:
• MUSIC SCENE PARTY: Sponsorship/Event Planning//Promoting/Poster printing & distribution/Fundraiser.
• CROSS PROMOTIONS: Brooklyn Pizzeria/Daville Vixens/ETC…getting flyers on pizza boxes, out to the public via the Roller Girls and anywhere else we can!
• VIDEO MINIONS: Setting up a network where people can submit videos they shoot at local shows to be featured on our YouTube Channel.
• MAKING A MONSTER: A free two song demo awarded each month. To be featured on a future compilation.
• GOSPEL AT THE ROOTS: A Compilation of local & touring musicians doing traditional Gospel tunes or Gospel tunes they have written in a traditional style. Proceeds will be donated to charity.
• SOCIAL MEDIA CLASS: Teaching the staff at The Drunk Horse to use Facebook and other social media effectively.
• VENUE LIST: Updating the national list and compiling a local list for touring and local musicians.
• ADOPT A BAND: Find a suitable person to reorganize this program and implement a system with local venue owners to get the information to touring bands.
• THE MONOLOGUE: Blog to be set up and linked to website.
