Trade Machine Tuesday - A Dockers/Tigers deal that suits all parties 🤝
With the Fremantle Dockers holding multiple first-rounders and a pair of Richmond FC players eager to come home to WA, a trade between the two clubs seems inevitable.
In what could be a rare win-win situation, the Dockers would happily welcome established talent to their current list as they aim to vault into contention - while the Tiges are in an obvious transition phase and are seeking as many high-end draft picks as they can find.
Freo would be seemingly happy to part with most (or all) of their early picks in 2024 to net the two Tigers, while Richmond will want to ensure they load up on picks in what is viewed as a deep, talent-laden draft pool. Naturally, the Dockers will want to negotiate and find a way to not sacrifice three first-rounders (they also hold pick 26 and their own 2025 first-rounder), but parting ways with these high-end picks feels like a fair deal across the board.
RICH gets: Picks No. 9, No. 10 & No. 17
FREM gets: Shai Bolton & Liam Baker

AFL Fantasy POD Watch Round 22 🤫
Let’s identify half a dozen players with less than 10% ownership who should be getting more love from the fantasy community!
-
1. Dan Houston, DEF, $783K, 8.2% OWN - Rumours are swirling about Houston’s future with the Power and it seems like Melbourne is the club trying to poach him. Expect the rebounding maestro to put on a show for his potentially new club.
2. Patrick Cripps, MID, $889K, 7.7% OWN - There have been better fantasy seasons from Cripps, but with the Blues’ 2024 hopes in the balance, their leader should rise to the occasion. Mark my words, the Carlton champ will average 105+ over his last three.
3. Izak Rankine, FWD, $779K, 5.6% OWN - Returning from a month-long ban, Izak Rankine might FINALLY be the answer to our F6 problems. Adelaide’s mercurial goal threat was rounding into form before his suspension and he should come out firing on all cylinders over the final three games.
4. Noah Anderson, MID, $852K, 4.9% OWN - The friendly fantasy fixture against the Eagles didn’t translate to a great score for Anderson - the good news is he still has three games to right his wrongs. I’m predicting big things from the Suns’ POD to close the year.
5. Cam Rayner, MID/FWD, $671K, 3.1% OWN - Over 750 coaches are pouncing on Brisbane’s x-factor this round on the back of his impressive average of 96.7 points in the last month. Rayner is capable of going missing from a fantasy standpoint, but he still looms as a stellar unique in a troubling FWD line.
6. Sean Darcy, RUC, $640K, 1.1% OWN - Ok, this is a rogue one, but Sean Darcy has the blueprint for fantasy success going up against Geelong’s RUC brigade this week - with the Cats allowing 134.2 points ON AVERAGE to rucks in the last month. Very strong one-week play for those who can’t reach Marshall/Xerri.
For the AFL Fantasy coaches trying to zig while everyone zags and get a leg up on the competition, here are a dozen of the best POD's for Round 22 🤙

Fry is back to help us with our final few cash cow moooves as the 2024 fantasy winds down.
Heartbreaking loss for the Boomers last night, but they would have been NOWHERE without Patrick Mills aka FIBA Jordan 🐐
He wound back the clock with a 26-point effort, including this clutch jumper that helped Australia force overtime against Serbia!
After a bronze medal in Tokyo and the 4th most points scored across his five Olympic Games, Mills’ career with Australia has come to an end. Thank you for everything you have done to inspire a nation 👏

On this day in 2012, Carmelo Anthony TORCHED Nigeria in the 2012 Olympic Games for 37 points in just 14 minutes of game time 🤯
Melo had a performance for the ages in London, shooting 13-16 from the field and making 10 of his 12 three-point attempts.
All 12 of USA’s players scored in the game, with the United States setting an Olympic single-game scoring record with a 156-73 victory.
Trade Machine Thursday - Orlando lands their guard of the future
There is a fair amount of optimism associated with the Orlando Magic after the franchise recently won multiple playoff games for the first time since 2011. There are plenty of budding talents to be excited about, but it’s no secret Orlando’s front office would love to land a dynamic scoring guard to round out their ascending core.
Enter, Anfernee Simons. It’s no secret that the Portland Trail Blazers are going through a rebuilding phase and their talented PG is one such player who has been linked to multiple trade rumours in recent weeks. The Blazers won’t give him up cheaply, although the Magic have enough assets at their disposal to make a trade work for both parties.
ORL gets: Anfernee Simons & 2027 1st worst swap (via POR)
POR gets: Cole Anthony, Gary Harris, 2025 1st (via DEN, protected 1-5), 2026 1st (via ORL) & 2027 1st best swap (via ORL)
The key to making this deal successful lies in the amount of draft capital Portland nets. Luckily Orlando is sitting pretty with virtually all of their own firsts and a few other tempting assets. Gary Harris can’t technically be traded until the end of September, but adding his contract to make the math work won’t be a huge loss for the Magic after the signing of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

As we prepare for the final month of the 2024 fantasy season, Fry is back with another all-important rookie update.
Last night, Australia’s cultural prime minister Patty Mills moved into FIFTH all-time for most points scored in Men’s Olympic basketball history 🙌
Finishing with just eight points against Canada, it’s hard to see Mills overtaking Luis Scola for 4th before the Olympics conclude - but credit where credit is due!

True or False - Vince Carter is the greatest dunker in the history of the NBA 🤔 For anyone who thinks otherwise, here are 5 windmill jams from VC that will change your mind #sportsbyfry
12 years later LeBron James brought out his “unstoppable move” again. Still just as effective 😂 #sportsbyfry
Useless SBF stat - During his illustrious NBA career, Magic Johnson had a streak of 46 straight games with at least 10 assists! In 21 of those games, Magic had 15+ dimes 🤯 Happy 65th birthday to the Magic Man 🎂 #sportsbyfry
Tom Hawkins announcing his retirement gives me a PERFECT opportunity to repost his match-winning snag against the Hawks! 🙌 Almost exactly 12 years ago, Hawkins was in the middle of a breakout season when he marked the ball with less than 30 second left on the clock during a Round 19 clash with Hawthorn. As the siren sounded, Geelong’s legendary forward slammed home his 6th major for the game, giving his club a famous Friday night victory at the G in front of 65,000 fans #sportsbyfry
Useless SBF stat - Caitlin Clark’s assist ascendancy I’m sure you are aware that Caitlin Clark has been TORCHING the WNBA in her rookie season. Just 26 games into her pro career with the Indiana Fever, Clark already has more career assists than 75.4% of all players in WNBA history 🤯 - needing just 13 dimes from her final 14 games to break the rookie record set by Ticha Penicheiro in 1998. The captivating guard has already shattered multiple WNBA records and it’s possible that in her first year she will throw more assists than anyone has in league history over the course of a full season! Producing one of the most dominant rookie seasons we’ve seen in ANY sport, 104 assists are all that separates Calrk from the crown as the generational talent chases another piece of history 🔥 #sportsbyfry
Not gonna lie, when I was younger I wanted to play just like Steve Nash! - This offseason marks 20 years since Nash made his return to the Phoenix Suns ☀️ Undoubtably one of my favourite players to ever grace a basketball court, Nash made his impact immediately felt - claiming back-to-back MVP awards in his first two seasons and steering the Suns to arguably their most successful stretch in franchise history. Over an eight year span, Nash and the Suns reeled off an NBA best 441-266 win-loss record that included three conference finals appearances and seven playoff series wins. The league’s best floor general produced impressive averages of 16.3 PPG and 10.9 APG in the regualr season during that time - upping his game in the playoffs to average 20.0 PPG and 10.7 APG from 67 postseason matches. Nash finished his Phoenix tenure with a slew of individual accolades including the aforementioned pair of MVP trophies, six All-Star selections, five All-NBA nods, five assists crowns as the league leader and on four different seasons where he shot 50–40–90 splits. To further highlight how impressive Nash’s effeciency was, he narrowly missed five consecutive 50–40–90 seasons because he shot 89.9% from the free throw line during the 2006–07 season - one made free throw short of the 90% mark. I will NEVER get sick of watching Steve Nash highlights - hopefully you enjoy 90 seconds of Hair Canada highlights as much as I do ⭐️ #sportsbyfry
With the Olympic’s just around the corner, let’s take a look at the highlights from what some believe is the greatest basketball player of ALL-TIME 🐐 In the 2007 FIBA AmeriCup games, Kobe Bryant was at the peak of his powers with his supreme skill, athleticism, shot-making and energy all on display in this video! The basket he makes at the 19 second mark had me falling out of my chair - shoutout to the late, and forever great @kobebryant 👏 #sportsbyfry
With this kick to Kelsey Mitchell for three, Caitlin Clark recorded her 19th assist of the night - breaking the WNBA record for the most assists in a single game! 🌟 #sportsbyfry
SBF Question Time - Is it too late for AFL Fantasy coaches to trade for Lawson Humphries? 🤔 Geelong’s star youngster has started his pro career with scores of 69, 77 and 105 - leading to another 4,000 coaches trading for him ahead of Round 19. Already owned by 27% of the competition and with Humphries seeing his price rise by $184K, is he worth paying up for this late into the season? #sportsbyfry
Team USA has arrived in Las Vegas as they prepare for Olympic competition - so now is a perfect time to give LeBron’s unstoppable move from 2012 some air time 🤣 #sportsbyfry
ICYMI - Nick Daicos kicked one of the goals of the season last night! This MFer is out of this world 🤯 #sportsbyfry
After an impressive debut last round, there are over 11,000 AFL Fantasy coaches trading for Port Adelaide’s recent debutant Logan Evans! Fresh off a 75 point game, is the mid-season recruit in your trade plans this week? 🤷♂️ #sportsbyfry
Here’s just one example of the type of assists that new Bulls point guard Josh Giddey is capable of producing 😳 I don’t know about you, but I’m super excited to see Giddey get an opportunity to thrive in Chicago! #sportsbyfry
One week to go until NBA Draft day and all signs point to another surprising pick at No. 1 Here’s Bill Simmons’ infamous reaction to the Cavaliers drafting Anthony Bennett first overall back in 2013 😂 “Rece, I need medical help” is still one of the funniest moments in NBA Draft history! #sportsbyfry
