A BEACON OF TRUE PUBLIC SERVICE

IN A TIME when genuine public service often seems overshadowed by self-interest, Barangay Captain Roger Acedillo of Tiguma, Pagadian City, has become a beacon of true dedication to his constituents. His actions reflect not just a commitment to duty but a genuine compassion that has impacted the lives of many, including residents like Logeth Arapoc, who tearfully expressed her gratitude for his support in her time of need.

Arapoc, a resident of Tiguma, relies on daily maintenance medication for a health condition—a financial burden she has struggled to bear. When she turned to Captain Acedillo for assistance, he responded immediately and without reservation, stepping in to cover her medication expenses. “Captain Acedillo doesn’t turn anyone away who seeks his help,” Arapoc shared. Her words highlight his unwavering support for the well-being of his community and his dedication to ensuring that no one is left behind.

Captain Acedillo’s leadership has not only been marked by compassion but also by an innovative drive to improve the services his barangay offers. Under his administration, Tiguma has embraced digitalization, with official forms like the Certificate of Residency and Barangay Clearance now featuring QR codes for authenticity verification. This digital shift brings added convenience and security, streamlining administrative processes and making them more accessible to residents.

With Captain Acedillo filing his certificate of candidacy for the Pagadian City Council in the upcoming 2025 elections, his brand of genuine public service stands as a model that could greatly benefit the broader community. His compassion and innovative approach demonstrate the qualities Pagadian needs to move forward. His leadership provides a glimpse into what can be achieved when officials put the needs of their constituents first.

As he aspires to serve at a higher level, may Captain Acedillo’s example inspire others across Pagadian to embrace the same spirit of empathy, service, and forward-thinking leadership. Pagadianons deserve leaders who are unafraid to make real, positive change—leaders like Captain Acedillo, whose dedication to his community is a testament to what true public service looks like.*
