Women Need a Place to Stay During Childbirth
Thousands of women worldwide die due to pregnancy-related complications annually, with most occurring in developing countries where access to skilled obstetric care is limited. Maternity waiting homes (MWHs) are one intervention designed to increase access to skilled prenatal care in resource-limited settings. MWHs are defined as accommodations at or near a health facility where pregnant women can stay in the final weeks of their pregnancy so they can be easily transferred to the health facility to give birth. In Central America, our first initiative was very successful in reducing the overall infant mortality rate by 50% in a population of 40,000 remote-living indigenous people. Following Christ's mandate to “Preach the Gospel to All Nations” we were the first to evangelize the remote living Cabecar peoples in the cloud forests of the Turrialba region of Costa Rica. We helped prepare and facilitate the baptism of hundreds of adults and children. Our founder Gregory Mitchell is godfather to over 30 people living in the tribal lands of the Chirripo cloud forest. What does this mean for the Church?

URGENT! THE SUFFERING OF FATHER ANDREW KASA. Drought has caused much suffering in this small Parish in Tanzania. The seeds we bought for the communal farm brought a successful crop but now the lack of rain threatens the food that they need to live on.

Water may surround this Island off the Coast of Tanzania but life-sustaining fresh water is much needed to support life on the Island. We were taking indigenous mothers to Holy Mass none were even baptized or believers yet but we felt the Lord wanted to be with them. Later many would be baptized. On the day of the Bread of Life Sermon, one mother asked me when can we receive the bread of life. Much of the world is longing to know
Jesus and we have a duty and a right to bring him to them
