We have a Palestinian student at Whitman whose family is still located in Gaza. They need our assistance in helping them raise the funds their family needs to find safety in Egypt.

TIME SENSITIVE!

I am Mosalam, a sophomore at Whitman College. Like any other international student, I came to the US to seek a good education and take advantage of the opportunities available with a hope of contributing to promoting my family’s living conditions. I am the eldest among my siblings and my family had huge expectations of me as I got an opportunity that is quite special considering our background. However, since the start of the war on Gaza on October 7th, my family has been witnessing all kinds of hardships. They are currently displaced, can barely get clean water for their daily use, and are living on a day-to-day basis. In the meantime, as I see all the struggle they have been going through for more than four months, I am feeling helpless not being able to relieve them from this daily suffering. I am initiating this fundraiser hoping that you can assist me in getting my family to safety in Egypt by donating whatever you can.

A genderq***r mom, and her family is in need of housing repairs. Their kitchen sink is currently in operable, and are unable to prepare clean food and dishes for their family. And their bathroom sink is non working causing them basic sanitary issues. In order to wash dishes and prepare food all they have is the bathtub to wash and cook with. Please anything you can spare will immensely help with providing a clean sanitary household for this loving q***r mother and her baby.

I'm a mother of three in a tough spot. We've been facing homelessness since May due to a wrongful eviction and the rent crisis in the tri cities. Right now, my main goal is to bring my nephew back from foster care so he can be with family instead of strangers. I'm a member of the Cherokee Nation, proudly part of the LGBTQ+ community, and I'm also dealing with a disability and long COVID.

My love for my kids knows no bounds, and reuniting our family is my absolute priority. CPS is involved, which makes things even more challenging for our family.
