Monica told her mother, Vivienne, that she was engaged to a new man named Zach. The older woman couldn't believe it, mainly because he was not wealthy, so she decided to dress up as a poor woman and investigate. In her poor clothes, she wanted to catch Zach off guard and find out if he really loved her daughter or if he was with her for the money.

She reached his house, which was worse than Vivienne could've imagined. It looked run-down and had an unkempt garden. She saw beer bottles and cigarette buds lying around as she approached the front door. Monica has never seen this house before, Vivienne thought, convinced of it. There's no way her daughter would've fallen for a man who lived like this.

After my wife's funeral, I returned home, and everything felt so empty. I didn't even take my coat off. I just walked into our bedroom and collapsed onto her side of the bed, still wearing my shoes. Her scent lingered on the sheets, and for a moment, I could almost pretend like nothing had changed.

The room was dim, lit only by the small nightlight by the bed. I reached for the framed photo on the nightstand—our favorite from our engagement day—and stared at it like I'd done so many times before.

But then, something strange happened. As I held the photo, I felt a bump behind the frame. At first, I thought nothing of it, but my fingers kept tracing it, and without thinking, I removed the glass and pulled the frame apart.

MY MIL WAS STEALING MY CLOTHES FOR MONTHS, MOCKING AND SELLING THEM ONLINE...TILL THANKSGIVING.

My MIL, Lucia, has been staying with us for months while her house is under renovation. Not long after she moved in, I started noticing some of my clothes disappearing—tops, bras, short dresses, skinny jeans—not just simple items, but my favorites.

At first, I thought I had misplaced them. But then I stumbled across a post on Reddit… featuring my clothes. I clicked on it and read the caption:
