I didn't press play on this one. Tubi actually automatically started this movie after the movie I had been watching stopped. My hands were busy with a crochet hook so I didn't bother arguing. 😆

Now, this obviously isn't Disney Pixar quality animation, I found it quite charming. The colours were great, the facial expressions were adorable and the creatures were definitely friend shaped. People of all ages are going to find it amusing that cats seems to always make their way toward the person who is allergic to cat dander. It's a very cat-like thing to do. nWave Pictures deserves some recognition. Check this and their other pictures on Tubi.

Auberjonois was born in New York, the son of Fernand Auberjonois, Swiss-born foreign correspondent for U.S. newspapers, and the grandson of a Swiss post-impressionist painter also named René Auberjonois. In films, Auberjonois has portrayed Father Mulcahy in MASH (1970), the expedition scientist Roy Bagley in King Kong (1976), and Chef Louis in The Little Mermaid (1989), in which he sang "Les Poissons". In the American animated musical comedy film Cats Don't Dance (1997), Auberjonois lent his voice as Flanagan, the human film director of "Li'l Ark Angel". In various long-running television series, Auberjonois portrayed a number of characters, including: Clayton Endicott III on Benson (for which he was nominated an Emmy Award), Odo on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Paul Lewiston on Boston Legal. He has also branched out into voice acting for video games, having appeared in a number of popular video games. When I saw a brand new Melissa McCarthy movie flick, I had to push play immediately. I've been rather disappointed with her recent work and needed something, anything to fix that. This movie read my mind and happily said challenge accepted.

Melissa McCarthy plays a Genie named Flora, who has been released from her small chamber by Royal Shakespeare Theater actor Paapa Essiedu. From there, "Nardo" takes his flirtatious yet niave friend, into the Big Apple. Even the most mundane thing -- like washing hair or coffee from a street vendor becomes an adventure.

Although this movie is 100% fantasy, it doesn't shy away from showing a realistic perspective on family life. I found the storyline heartwarming but not at all sappy. These are the types of roles that Melissa McCarthy was born to play. Catch this one today!

If you're thinking that seeing Leo balloon in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, prompted me to watch this movie, you're correct. Right off the bat, I got the impression that they were trying to deliver the same vibe as Lyle, Lyle Crocodile. They did not succeed. The life lessons being taught to the students throughout this movie are cute. All my eyes saw was Adam Sandler's tired comedy routine added spruced up with animation. Those who live for his traditional comedic style will adore this movie. I on the other hand prefer it when Adam leaves the moron on the bench to let a more adult dramatic side emerged. So, needless to say, this movie fell flat for me.

My thoughts
For this week's I wanted to feature so I watched The Stakeout Movies. Silly me forgot that she was only in the sequel. Here are the notes I jotted down while watching these two movies.

Stakeout:
- a lot of fatphobia
- unrealistic sub-plot
- why does Madeline Stowe's accent keep changing?
- the buddy cop thing lacks personality
- did not age well

Another Stakeout:
- fatphobia continues (they really liked to take jabs at fat people back then wow)
- Rosie O'Donnell's comic relief is brilliant. Every scene with her has me laughing
- still not buying the romantic subplot that carries from the first
- Archie is hilarious
- this could have been watched as a stand alone movie and I still would have been able to follow along.

As you can see, I disagree with the professional critics here. This is one of times where the sequel was better. The addition of Rosie O'Donnell and Archie to the cast, gave this movie the personality that the first one lacked. We probably would have seen a third movie with these delightful characters had everyone agreed with me.

My thoughts
This Netflix original series was listed in my recommendation section. I'm not sure what I watched to prompt Netflix into making this suggestion, but I am glad they did. My days are not filled with overly boujee people with a full make-up and 9-inch finger nails drinking Mimosas. The people in my world wear an outfit on more than one occasion. Seeing a television series that represents ordinary people dealing with unemployment, dating, illness and death was a welcome change of pass.

Production had to make a few changes along the way due to Covid and a prominent cast member leaving. However, the new faces added kept the series going nicely. My only criticism of this series is that season 3 seemed forced. It was obvious they were trying to cram several Cinderella moments in at the the same time.

I tend to jot down a few notes as I am watching a movie so that I can keep track of performances that stood out, or a quote that had grabbed my attention the most. My notes under the title of this movie is ... weird. That's it, just one word. 😆 So I think it's safe to say, that I didn't get this movie. Nor did it leave any sort of impression on me. I think they were trying to invoke the same feelings as Idocracy or Don't Look Up, but that wasn't achieved. In the words of Randy Jackson, that's gonna be a no from me, dawg.

There is a strong While You Were Sleeping vibe here.  Except the Sandra Bullock movie made a little bit of sense.  Here in The Other Zoey, the dude has amnesia but somehow remembers what his favourite foods, his favourite board games. Also, everyone is constantly on their device, but not one person seems to notice that Zoey isn't Zoey, yet she gets all the mad hate for being a liar. It's embarrassing that Andie MacDowell attached herself to all of this cringe.

My thoughts
Right off the top, I will admit that this isn't as dynamic as some of the movies we see Tommy Lee Jones and Jamie Foxx attach their name to. The courtroom scenes are also kind of bland compared to other movies. Of course, we see the obligatory group of well-dressed attorneys march in unison, but there is no you can't handle the truth moment here.  I also think that this movie could have been made with just about any actor who answered the call.

Yet,  I rather enjoyed this one. There is something appealing about seeing a small town business stand
up to a billionaire who is hell-bent on monopolizing an entire industry. Knowing this is a true story is just the cherry on the cake. I understand why this is on top of the streaming pile.  It's a pleasing David and Goliath film.

Matthew's words and his untimely death are a flashing yellow caution sign to anyone who is merrily wandering down the rabbit hole of substance abuse. He makes it clear here that life isn't about filling your day with sh*ts and giggles. That's why he stated he would rather be remembered for his work off the screen. Eventually, he understood that what he did for others was far more important than living like an overindulgent unaccompanied minor. I hope people listen.

My thoughts
Watching this movie again, tugged at my heartstrings. Especially when I saw scenes with Michael Clarke Duncan, Matthew Perry, and Bruce Willis together. It's sad that we no longer have Micheal and Matthew. Even sadder still to know we barely have Bruce Willis.

In his 2000 review of this movie, Roger Ebert spoke highly of the performance from Amanda Peet. He basically claimed Matthew Perry was absurd and did nothing but smoke and run into things (glass doors, Micheal Clarke Duncan). For me, well, aside from the smoking, Matthew Perry's absurdity was the best part of this franchise. His character of Oz is as if Chandler Bing had been living on espresso for about a week.

Last week, you could have easily found either of these movies through any on-demand platform. Unfortunately, there's a cash cow on the credits, so if you want to see them now, you will have to rent/buy or dig into your physical collection.

My eyes are filled with tears as I try to keep the grammar in past tense. We were not supposed to be writing memorial posts about Matthew Perry for a few more decades, at least. In his book, and in many interviews, Matthew made it perfectly clear that he wanted to be remembered for more than Friends. Over the next few days .filmingo and myself will try to honour that wish.

My Thoughts
For many people, the name Matthew Perry will permanently be linked to the role of Chandler Bing. I, too, adored him in that particular role. He was the friend we all needed, and to me, Chandler was the hero of that series. But I understand how he could have felt typecast.

I'm not much for re-boots. They usually pale in comparison to the original, this one is the exception. Casting was perfection.
The stuffed shirt mannerisms of Thomas Lennon in the role of Felix balance Matthew Perry as Oscar wonderfully. With Matthew on the writers desk, Chandler wasn't Chandler here. In fact, many times throughout the three year run of this series, his character wasn't even the one to deliver the most memorable quips. One of my favourite moments saw everyone attempting various posh accents. Lindsay Sloane's character Emily just couldn't nail it, and for some reason, she began to sound like she was taking part in Talk Like A Pirate Day.

I found myself looking forward to the antics of this cast, and I was disappointed that executives axed this show just as it was warming up. Find this on Apple TV or Paramount Plus in selected areas. It's a must binge from me.

This documentary was like a stroll down memory lane. Throughout this this film, many familiar television icons speak fondly of the influence Mr. Dressup had on their lives.

Viewers also get some insight into Casey and Finnigan. But the most endearing part of this documentary is learning about the life of Ernie Coombs that cameras didn't capture.

There has been a lot of buzz about this movie because of Brendan Fraser. Fans are ecstatic to see a Brenaissance. Please note that you will watch a whole lot of movie before his face even appears. That said, this is a must-watch.

According to National Geographic, they were once the wealthiest Indigenous nation on the entire planet thanks to the oil wells found on their land. They treated themselves to beautiful clothing, luxurious automobiles, and homes filled with every finery available.  Government officials felt this type of spending was frivolous and stepped in to stop these naive people from squandering their wealth. Laws were created to save the Osage people from themselves. Once settlers learned that the people of Osage were being given a share of the profits, they were drawn to the area like moths to a flame. The two moths we see the most are Ernest Burkhart and William Hale (played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, respectively). Hale orchestrated the unliving of more than 60 members of the Osage Nation.

If you saw this post and thought hrm ... I don't think I've seen anything about this series?! You're right. There is no trivia on IMDB, no discussions on moviedb.org, and when I tried to search for a rating on Rotten Tomatoes, that site thought I wanted information on The Gray Man. So, it looks like I'm the first one to discuss this online. YAY ME!!

Gray has all of the psychological whodunnit mystery that is usually attributed to these types of action thrillers. The twist here is, that the protagonist is female and her backstory and motives play out nicely throughout these eight episodes.

At first glance, Cornelia Gray (played by Patricia Clarkson) looks like a modern grandmother on her way to watch a soccer game. However, when it comes to Cornelia, (who is referred to as Gray for most of the series) viewers quickly learn not to let outward appearances define the person. Gray is not your average everyday minivan-driving granny.

If you are familiar with Black Swan, you know that John J. Mclaughlin writes characters well. Gray offers just enough to keep viewers guessing, without becoming predictable. There is some gore, but if your constitution is weak, you can easily turn your head at those spots. It's a great watch and can easily be binged over one weekend. Find it on Paramount Plus which is included in your Prime Video package.

I don't think I was paying attention to the opening credits of this movie. As I watched I kept thinking this has a Woody Allen, controlled chaos vibe to it. Now that I'm here writing this post and actually paying attention to Wikipedia and IMDb, it all makes sense. 😀

John Cusack is true to form here. Jennifer Tilly is outstanding. The ensemble cast meshes well to deliver a humorous behind the scenes look at getting a play on stage. Some of the lines didn't age well. To be fair, that can be said of nearly everything oldie. Our verbiage changes through the years, that's just the nature of evolution. Still, I think a new group of people will find humour in the witty banter. There is something appealing about the illogical thinking of these misfit characters. Streaming is available on many platforms.

I'm going to include spoilers so that none of my followers have to watch this trash. Jennifer Aniston plays a woman who is on a mission to find out if her family was the inspiration for The Graduate. In the pursuit of that truth, she has in*******se with a guy (played by Kevin Costner) who had also bedded her mother and her grandmother. I wish I could tell you I was joking. But nope. Someone, somewhere thought it was a good idea to cast Kevin Costner as a superstud who is so irresistible 3- generations of women lust for his man-seed.

Oh and it gets worse. Viewers have the distinct pleasure of listening to Jennifer Aniston do that high-pitched-whiney-screechy

My thoughts
Well, the synopsis of this movie sounds a little cheesey, but I hope people don't dismiss it. If you are entertained by the town curmudgeon, you will love this movie. Morgan Freeman's character Monte is your typical jerk with a heart of gold. I found joy in the fact that he a collection of sarcastic quips ready for use for every situation. No one is safe - not even the dog. If you're desperate for a palate cleansing escape from spooky season, this one suits the bill. Streaming is available on Prime Video.
