🎉 Kasai: a Traditional Delicacy Essential for Tibetan New Year😋
Kasai is made of flour, eggs🥚, baking soda, cooking oil, powdered sugar🧂 and other raw materials. Eggs and baking soda are mixed into the flour to create a dough, which is then kneaded into various shapes according to baker’s own preferences. The shaped dough is fried in oil over medium or low heat until it turns golden brown and crispy. Dust with powdered sugar after cooling it.

Kumbum Monastery in held an annual exhibition of 🪷 on Feb. 12, the 15th day of the first month of Tibetan calendar, drawing numerous tourists and 🙏 followers from around the world.
Starting from every September, the monastery’s monks go to nearby yak herders to purchase low-fat yak butter, the raw material for making butter sculptures. The monastery begins to make butter sculptures in October and finish in two months. Butter sculptures include statues, figurines, birds and animals, as well as flowers and vegetation, which are composed into stories to convey Buddhist doctrines to followers. Thanks to their bright colors, unique crafts and exquisite modelling, butter sculptures were included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list in 2006.

The 11th Gold Medal of the ! Tseten Yudron, an athlete from , China, won the gold medal in women’s short-distance mountaineering final at Harbin Asian Winter Games. Chinese delegation dominated the podium, claiming the top four places in this event.

Puma Yumco Lake🌊 Witnesses 🐑 on Ice❄️
Recently, more than 1,000 sheep from Tuiwa Village, Nakartse County, Shannan City, the Autonomous Region passed through the Puma Yumco Lake to the island in the middle of the lake.
It has been reported that with an average altitude of about 5,070 meters, Tuiwa Village, located in Nakartse County, is the administrative village with the highest altitude in the world. People here are mainly engaged in animal husbandry. Because of the high altitude and short summer in the village, the meadow cannot provide sufficient winter feed for the sheep. Therefore, in the coldest time every year, when Puma Yumco Lake freezes into a giant blue mirror, villagers nearby Tuiwa Village in Nakartse County would herd thousands of sheep across the iced lake surface to find better forage on the mid-lake islands.

⛷It has been reported that Tsering Dradul has completed in the men’s individual short-distance cross-country race on February 8 and will participate in the men’s 4×7.5km relay race on February 12, respectively; and Sonam Chodron and Tseten Yudron will participate in the women’s short-distance ski mountaineering race and the mixed relay race on February 9 and February 12, respectively.

February 2, 2025 marks the 29th , with “Protecting Wetlands for Our Common Future” as its theme. Wetlands are called the “kidneys of the earth,” species reservoirs, and climate regulators because they have diversified ecological functions and rich natural resources.
The Autonomous Region continuously promotes wetland protection and has achieved remarkable results. By the end of 2024, 15 nature reserves of wetland types and 22 national wetland parks had been established in the region. in Mapham Yutso, Maidika, Serling Tso Lake, and Zhari Namco are on the List of Wetlands of International Importance. Wetlands in Lhalu, Lhathok, and Pangong Tso Lake are on the National Important Wetland List. Additionally, a list of 22 important wetlands at the autonomous region level has been published.
Water plants are luxuriant, birds are happy, and there are herds of cattle and sheep. Let’s enjoy the beautiful wetlands in Xizang .

“Except for the personnel on duty at the settlement point, all the #monks and #nuns started to go to the homes of the victims after simple resettlement and adjustment, and provided religious services in accordance with the wishes of the people,” said Tsewang Rigzin of Senga Chode #Monastery. Four of his relatives died in the earthquake, and only two elders of his family have survived. His left hand was also injured in the earthquake. “The families of the victims became calm when seeing us. As long as we could do at that time, we would try our best to meet the demands of the families of the victims.” Tsewang Rigzin added.🥲 Facing the earthquake, the disaster-stricken monks and nuns did not hang back.
