Brown Bass Update/Upgrade/Refit.
When I built my old P-bass back in '79 (Yes there's a story but not for this post) I added a switch to reverse the polarity between the split P-bass pickups. I thought it would be cool and more "Jazzy" in sound. Well after 45 years I've decided it wasn't worth the trouble so I reverted the wiring to standard "P" circuit configuration. I just never used the split sound...ever! in fact it was more of an annoyance because it was easily flipped when playing. I found a plastic body panel plug to fill in the hole where the switch used to be.
'74 Fender P-bass body
'79 Boogie body Jazz neck, Birds-eye maple with an ebony fingerboard, Ovation frets.
'79 Velvet Hammer P-bass pickups.
Stringjoy "Ranger" Stainless steel round wound strings. .050 - .105

New tuners are coming next week.

Apparently I've gone into the t-shirt business. I don't know if they are any good, what colors they offer, or what images they are putting on them. I think there are only two sizes; XS and #########XL.
I'll have to talk to the managers about this.

PSA: USPS does NOT use text messaging to get information FROM you about a "package" delivery issue. These are scams. It's called "Smishing".

The Smishing Triad network sends up to 100,000 scam texts per day globally. One of those messages went to Grant Smith, who infiltrated their systems and exposed them to US authorities.

Changing strings on my oldest P-bass (It has a long story about it
s existence but I wont bother you with it here) . An inspection showed a chip on the Nut next to the A string and a massive drack under the A string. Now I know where the buzz was coming from.

OK. I'll put this out there now. A new (to me) Mike Lull, M5V added to the stable. I won't bore you with the back stories about this bass, but I'll just say the stars aligned, I was looked down at from above, and was able to acquire this magnificent instrument.

Hi Everyone.
I, like many others, am getting ready to head out to a gig. WE LOVE seeing our fans and new faces in the crowd. Come out and support your local band and live music venue. We want to see you there. Some of us play at fraternal organizations such as the Elks and Eagles clubs. These places are NOT exclusive nor closed to the public. They just require you to sign into their guest book. It's a legal thing so be respectful.
Most places allow us to display a tip jar. We love tips! How much? $5 per person in your party is my recommended minimum.
And don't forget to tip the wait staff. Most of the time they running around and are super busy.

I was having an issue with my pedal where the signal would start to sag like a slowly discharging capacitor. I did some basic signal tracing and isolated the issue to my power supply. It's a Voodoo Lab pedal power 2 plus. my faithful power companion for several years.
I ordered a new power supply, a OneSpot CS-7, which arrived sooner than I anticipated. Thank you Sweetwater. As I uninstalled the old P.P. I flipped it over to reveal the manufacture date...July - 2012.
I think I got my money's worth :)
