We went to a new restaurant called Xcatik (it has been open for about 3 months and is locally owned by natives). The restaurant name X'catik means a type of chile that is yellow in color with a very hot flavor. I learned in talking with one of the owners that it’s their signature house sauce, very delicious and low key.
First thing first, we ordered drinks. The house proposed the Xcatik Drink which has Gin, hibiscus and yolk, very interesting combination. Also, their beers were really cold!
Now the food... wow! Look at these portions, the size of these dishes. Believe me, they were extremely tasteful and really well executed! While my Sandy craved seared salmon, I was on a hunt for that perfect octopus dish, and I found it at the Xcatik! This is THE PLACE FOR OCTOPUS, Fillet Mignon and Arrachera (tender and super tasty) combined with the best presentation and served in the most generous portions ever - all of that at very reasonable price!
