I really went back-and-forth about posting this, but if it saves one kid from going through the anxiety that Bentley has gone through silently for the past week and a half it’s worth it.

Well if you’re Canadian, you’ll know that in September, you start to learn about Terry Fox, and his journey and legacy. You also begin to learn how he found out he had cancer - he noticed that his leg was hurting… Well Bentley thought about that and thought about the growing pains he’s had here and there for a month or 2 and silently worried himself in to a panic attack. Thinking he himself was headed to the same fate as Terry.

I was an extremely anxious kid and teen and constantly suffered from anxiety and panic attacks before finally telling someone when I was 17 (so about a decade of keeping it to myself).

For me and for Bentley on the outside it looked like a tummy bug, (throwing up, or not wanting to eat), acting sleepy and just down. It was never crying and finding it hard to breathe and outwardly looking panicked. So parents please be on the look out for signs. They won’t be in outwardly obvious and your kid won’t be the first to tell you.

It feels like telling your parents will make your scary feelings true, and living in your unknown is terrifying but seems better than other people confirming your worst fears.

Catastrophizing is a kid (or even an adult) with anxiety’s best hidden talent.

Highly recommend trying new things when you get older. At 35 I took up riding and while I’m far from pro, I couldn’t imagine my life without horses in it. I’ll forever be that person who says “horses” when they see them as I drive by.

Back to school! Sure Tatum and Bentley were only there for an hour but hey, the house was quiet.

We took a much needed family vacation to to wrap up the summer. The kids played for hours (and got covered in sand) while Kyle and I laid back and relaxed. Surf, sand and sea - nothing wrong with that. No wonder Kyle and I keep coming back every year. [hosted]

One of the smartest things I’ve done for myself is tell my kids that cereal for dinner is an option!

I spend my weekends planning meals for the week, grocery shopping, etc… but some days I’m just over adulting. I don’t want to cook. F**k, sometimes I don’t eat lunch until almost 3. So I’m not even hungry for dinner.

So I told the kids - If you ever want cereal for dinner, let me know. Tell me BEFORE I start prepping and cooking dinner and the answer will be yes.

Cereal for dinner - breakfast for dinner’s lazier friend 🙌🏼

This is your reminder to carve some time out just for yourself. I’ll take my ‘me time’ in the form of a facial any day! I tried out Customized Glow Facial with MAX+ and OMG was it relaxing! Not to mention my skin looked amazing afterwards.

This facial is totally customizable depending on what your skin needs. For me that included: cleansing my face, a light peel, followed by a hydrating mask - which included (my favorite part) a shoulder massage 🙌🏼 . The MAX+ light was added at the end. The MAX+ light has a verity of functions (in my case it was used to minimized redness). The Glow Facial ended with a relaxing and gentle gua sha massage that left me melted in to the bed.

In the next few days I’ll be posting a Reel of the process so you can see firsthand what it’s like (a little ASMR anyone? Lol). But until then, I’ll leave you with this… when was the last time you did something for yourself?

Let’s talk New Years resolutions. I know, I know, insert eye rolls. I’m not normally a fan of them either. Probably because I never follow through with them. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I will say that my life is busy. I’m sure yours is too. I have zero ability (or willpower) to keep on track with eating all my fruits and veggies every day. I mean, at least once a day I clean my kids plates with my mouth - tell me bite sized food doesn’t hit different! But I do have time for my vitamins!
