The priest had come from Hamren to Birla in Diphu to offer prayers on Thursday.

The minor girl, who had gone to school on Friday, complained to her mother after suffering from stomach ache.

Kathar, at a press conference organized by Dimasa Students' Union, Karbi Anglong Dimasa Samaj, Dimasa Sahitya Sabha, Dijua Mahila Samiti and local village elders, expressed anger over the statement that the Dimasas came to Maibong only in 1836.
Karbi Anglong Dimasa Samaj and Dimasa Students' Union as well as caste organisations calling JI Kathar a political conspirator for creating a conflict without knowledge of the history of dimasas.
At the end of the press conference dimasa organisations burnt the effigy of JI Kathar and stormed the streets of Diphu with the go back sound of J.I. Kathar's, Murdabad JI Katha.

A review meeting on the census of Karbi people outside the Sixth Schedule was held at Lions Club in Nagaon district headquarters today. The meeting was attended by the office bearers of various parties and national organizations from Nagaon, Kamrup, Hojai, Morigaon, Kachar, Bishwanath, Golaghat and Lakhimpur districts.
The meeting was attended by PDCK President Songbijit Ingti Kathar, KDC President Ranjit Ranghang, former KDC President Mangal Bay, Karbi Adorbar President Ajit Kathar and All Assam Karbi Youth Association President Kamal Ronghang are the Chief guests.
Also as a member Nabinchan Kr, President of Bangthai Asem, Horen Phangcho, President of Amri Karbi Jatiya Parishad, Ajit Millick, former President of Sadao Assam Karbi Chhatra Sangha, Karan Ranghang, President of KSU and Krishna Terang, General Secretary of AKSA were present.

A teenager from Diphu went missing after falling into the Langnit River at Manja Siloni in the afternoon.
