How Weakness Becomes Strength

Think of a situation you wish you could change, and then imagine what the apostle Paul must have been going through in 2 Corinthians 12.

Paul was suffering, and so he repeatedly begged God to remove his pain. But God doesn’t change Paul’s situation. Instead, God tells Paul that His “grace is enough” for him.

Charis, the ancient Greek word for “grace,” conveyed the favor God showed humanity when He sent Jesus to earth for us.

Before Jesus, people couldn’t draw near to God on their own. But Jesus made a way for anyone to experience intimacy with God. A relationship with God isn’t something we earn—it’s a free gift we receive when we accept that Jesus died for us and rose from the dead.

So when God tells Paul that His “grace is sufficient,” what He’s essentially saying is: “I am enough for you.”

God could meet Paul’s needs because God was all Paul needed—and God was with Paul. The influence Paul had was only because God chose to show off His power through him.

“For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
2 CORINTHIANS 4:6-7 NIV (emphasis added)

We are all like “jars of clay”—simple and not that impressive. But when we submit our lives to God, we become containers that showcase His power.

Like Paul, we can then boast about how weak we are so that way God gets the credit for every great thing that happens to us.

Our situations might not change, but our cry often changes from, “God please remove this suffering,” to, “God, when I suffer—show me how You are using this for Your glory and my good.”

So whatever you’re facing, know that God is near. He sees you, and He loves you. Take some time today and ask God to show you how He is empowering you. Draw near to Him, and let Him strengthen you.

I would like to share my testimony about Sichi - a beautiful woman from China and living in Sydney. We met her yesterday at Hillsong Church (first time attendee too). I had the opportunity to share about Jesus. She’s keen to know more about The Lord and she mentioned that there’s some sort of faith starting to grow in her life. I explained about accepting Jesus in her life as Lord and Saviour, prayed for her and advised to continue attending Hillsong church. God bless you Ms Sichi. See you again.
(Never had the chance to took a photo with her)

This picture reminds me of my purpose in life and the ways to achieve those purposes.
1. I remind myself that I’m a well loved mum to my children and a very dear wife to my husband.
2. That my job was from God and Jesus is my chief executive, my manager, my supervisor, my co worker & co cleaner.
3. To always look on the brightside whenever I feel stressed or overwhelmed and read the verse Jeremiah 29:11.
4. Giving and trusting everything to God is my day to day ultimate goal.
5. Oh, yes, our small family picture, they inspires me too despite my children are bit messy😁 sometimes but I do love them.🩵🩵🩵🩵
6.My family overseas specially my mum, my dad, my siblings, my parents in law, my husbands siblings, my relatives, are all very dear to me. 🩵
7. Most of all, My ministry to continue serve Christ.

The Ruler of Everything

If you were to look at a map of the world, you would see many different countries divided by territory lines. Each of those countries has a ruler who is responsible for what happens in those borders. Ever since the beginning of creation, humans have had ownership as rulers over portions of land.

It can be easy to look at the world and think those rulers alone have ultimate control over what happens within their land. As we look at Scripture though, we see that even though humans rule over various countries—it is God who truly rules over everything.

While many leaders have power over their land and people, God’s Word tells us that only God has true power. He is the One who created everything that exists, so He is the only one who is truly great and powerful.

Everything on earth and in heaven ultimately belongs to God, and regardless of what happens in the world, God is still the ruler over everything. No matter what earthly rulers decide, God is ultimately in control of everything. This is why God is deserving of all praise and glory for His greatness and power.

So take some time today to think about the greatness of God who made everything that exists, and yet still desires a relationship with His people. God is not some lofty ruler who makes decisions in a far off place, but He is present in the lives of those who call Him Lord.
