It's tiring, I know.

Some days you just want to shut everyone out, some nights you just stay awake for hours trying to silence the thoughts. And in the brief moments of calm, you just take it all in—every bit of the escape before the world starts turning again.

It's funny how everything just moves so slowly, and so quickly at the same time. From the dancing of the clouds to the setting of the sun, from the red numbers counting down at the stoplight, to the sea of people scrambling below it.

How exactly do we catch up with the rest of the world?

Just keep on walking. It might take time, but when you finally found where your heart is at rest, that tiny spot in this universe where everything's as calm as the sea, trust me, you can just sit down, watch the days and the nights pass in a blur, and life would still feel good. Everything would still be beautiful. Then you'll realize how it's never a race or a competition—just a matter of finding where we belong.

For what it’s worth,
I would have waited on you forever.
Exhausted myself just to earn your trust.
More than anything else -
you mattered.

And still,
the closer I moved towards you,
the more distant we grew.

What should one do
when the person holding their heart

stops?

How many times must I pick it up,
brush it off,
blame myself,
chase you down,
return what’s left,
and watch you set it back on the shelf?

The hardest part is that I deserve the discard.

But I need you to understand,
it’s not that I don’t want anybody else.
It’s that I can’t.
I see what's missing in everything.
And you were the one who used to ask me every day to be with you forever.
I always said yes and meant it.
Did you keep asking me, hoping you'd soon believe it?
And that’s what keeps me weakly close by.
Eventually, I’ll have no choice but to forgive myself.
One of us must.
And I swear,
if I had to choose between us two,
I would rather it be you.

It still feels as if the time I give to another
is being stolen from you.

Many people think that living as a couple is always peachy, but this is the real reality...✍🏾

Living with the person you love is not what everyone thinks it is. You don’t wake up early in the morning for breakfast together in bed every morning. It's not snuggling in bed together until you sleep peacefully every night. It's not always having the house clean and food freshly made every day.
Living with the person you love is arguing for simple things, like who forgot to take out the trash, it's sleeping because the day has been hard and you're exhausted, it's arguing over financial issues, it's someone who takes your bed sheets away when you sleep and you wake up in the cold.
But despite everything, every day you expect to see that person eagerly or go home everyday to meet that same person you know loves you and cares about you. You laugh together the moment you do something funny, it's intimacy with each other, it's cooking dinner together as you talk and making it easier because you both had a complicated day.
It's living an emotional crisis and having someone who sits next to you, hugs you and tells you that everything will be fine and you believe it.
It's loving that same person even when it drives you freaking crazy and pulls you out of your box.
Living with the person you love is arguing for silly things constantly, but it's also having a love that many people spend their lives looking for. It’s the times that people try to break you up, but the love was stronger. It's not perfect and it's very difficult to keep it balanced every day, but it's wonderful and the best you can experience, because if it were easy it wouldn't be worth it.
