It has been a while since we last posted something about the m57swap. So this is what we have been up to!

We found out that an intercooler out of an 2007 hyundai tucson fits perfectly in the spot where the original TD filterbox used to be. So we used some left over intercooler piping of other projects and made the intercooler fit on the m57.

We placed the fuel cooler on a custom mount between the battery and the left headlight and hooked up all the fuel lines

We re-used the original TD radiator and connected it to the m57 coolant hoses by using some hoses out of some random scrap cars.

Also today we got the ecu back! The immobilizer is off now and it got tuned so this m57 should put out between 200 and 220hp now!

M21 is out! And m57 is in! Now the fun begins, we have to find a front sump oilpan, make a custom shorter driveshaft and make engine and gearbox mounts. only to get this big m57d30 to fit 😅

Look what rolled in the barn today! We’ve bought this 1986 BMW E28 524TD. Turned out it has a broken valve😣 So we figured… let’s swap this old worn out and broken 115hp M21D24 for a more modern 194hp M57D30 out of a E39! Stay tuned for regular updates on our socials and of course a video on our YouTube channel when it’s all done!
