I honestly think that our country isn't ready for a Marcos presidency.

"This is a rant, but an enlightening post nonetheless. I just realized that after six years of Duterte rule, I don't think we're ready for a president that will continue that brand of leadership.

Duterte tested the limits--and to an extent--exposed the vulnerabilities of our Constitution. His admin contributed so much to the field of constitutional law in a bad way--producing law and jurisprudence that will benefit the next administration, kung 'yung next administration eh walang hiya rin.

In his administration we learned that we could actually bury Marcos at the Heroes' Cemetery because there is literally no law prohibiting it despite the existence of a law recognizing the atrocities that happened during Marcos' regime (Ocampo v. Enriquez).
We learned that an impeachable official can be exposed to a quo warranto petition despite the explicit rule in the Constitution that they can only be removed through impeachment (Republic v. Sereno).
It upended the long-standing rule that presidential immunity only applies to the President's official acts as President; now, the immunity became absolute (De Lima v. Duterte).
Natutunan nating kahit may probisyon sa Constitution nating dapat ilabas ng Presidente ang medical records niya ay pwede niya rin 'tong hindi pansinin (De Leon v. Duterte).
Natutunan nating ang magiging useless ang safeguards in imposing Martial Law if the administration enjoys a supermajority in Congress (Lagman v. Medialdea).
Natutunan nating pwedeng magtago ang Presidente ng kanyang SALN kahit pinapahalagahan ng Konstitusyon ang freedom of information (Ombudsman MC No. 1, s. 2020).
Panghuli, natutunan nating ang civil liberties natin, laging threatened under the guise of anti-terrorism (Calleja v. Executive Secretary).

While previous administrations had their fair share of sh*tty laws and upsetting Court decisions that shaped our country, it is no doubt that our Constitution under Duterte has been tested and perhaps exerted to its limit. And that exposes the fragility of our democracy--it will take some time for us to recover and move on from what just happened.

Continuity won't be the solution.

Napaka-fragile ng demokrasya natin. Ang having leaders with dictatorial tendencies won't save us from that; it might f**k us up even more.

Kaya if the numbers are true, we have to stand up for ourselves because accountability may be a thing of the past. 'Yung pagkakaisa natin sa rallies, sa mobilizations, we have to make sure that our responsibility doesn't end sa balota--when something happens, regardless kung sino ang mauupong presidente, we have to hold that person accountable."

Magbasa ka ng history okay na, read multiple sources piece them together yourself if tamad ka mag basa ng libro then dont claim you know everything! Nakakairita lang kasi ang tingin ng mga politician in PH people is sobrang baba na we wont call them out when they say something so outlandish and stupid. Come on man! Where dis you get the guts to say all this BS? So anyway im just glad may mga gantong page na nakakatulong sa pag educate sa ibang tao, i know our education system has failed us, but its never too late to learn our own REAL history. Rant over.

Has our school system failed? because over the course of a decade of these people using facebook, the revision of the history and narrative has suddenly changed. The once tyrant, now suddenly being praised as a hero? Does it seem believable because of small snippets in a photo, with a quoted text unknown sources, no presented evidence, unverifiable claims is so alluring to your eyes and it tickles your unoccupied brain? What the heck is wrong with you people? I know it's easy to believe somethings when youre lazy to fact check, but can you atleast be skeptic on what you see in the internet, also confirmation bias is a bitch, so if you can, Do yourself a favor and actually read the real history before you spout BS. We live in information overload era, and not all information is knowledge. If this is the great filter, do your best to not get caught and atleast live your life thinking for yourself, not whats based on what others think is good. Rant over.
