🚀 **Bucket List Surprise:** How an Airshow Sparked a Deeper Appreciation for Nature 🌿

Imagine crossing off a bucket list item you didn’t even know you had—like attending an airshow! This past weekend, I did just that, inspired by the jaw-dropping Blue Angels documentary. What started as a thrilling display of human ingenuity turned into an unexpected reflection on nature's brilliance. 🛩️✨

From the impressive formations of fighter jets to the daring stunts of bi-planes, I couldn’t help but see the parallels to the natural world. The Blue Angels' precise diamond formation? A nod to migrating birds. Those dizzying jet dives? Pure raptor vibes. Nature did it first, and we just followed its lead.

Next time you’re wowed by technology, take a moment to thank the original innovators—nature’s creatures. 🌍🦅

Here you will find articles and stories about Conservation and Wildlife. I'm a conservation photographer and writer and I believe in writing articles that showcase the unique challenges and beauty in this part of the country.

Happy International Day of Forests! Today, we celebrate the beauty and importance of forests and trees. Did you know that forests play a crucial role in combating climate change? They act as natural carbon sinks, absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and storing it in their trees and soil. But our forests are facing many challenges, from deforestation to wildfires. That's why it's more important than ever to raise awareness and take action to protect our forests. Join us in celebrating this day by learning more about the vital role of forests and how we can all contribute to their preservation. https://naturefixcolorado.substack.com/

Helloo!

As we approach the peak of our snow season here in Colorado, I wanted to share some updates on our water supply. While we did see a surge in snowpack during February, it unfortunately wasn't enough to make up for our current deficit.

According to the National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), an underperforming El Niño and dry fall in 2023 contributed to our current situation. Think of water supply like a bank - precipitation events are deposits, but factors like dry conditions and water use act as withdrawals. And unfortunately, even a heavy amount of snowfall can't fully replenish what we've lost. Even with heavy snowfall we have to account for dry soil sucking up a good bit of the moisture to replenish itself.

However, we still have a little time left and more snow on the way. Our peak snow season typically occurs in April, and a big storm is expected this week which will surely help. Keep snow in your thoughts!
