Aural Music announces October 18th as the international release date for Ottone Pesante's highly anticipated fourth album, Scrolls of War.

Ottone Pesante ("Heavy Brass" in Italian) are a unique and incredible band: trumpet, trombone, and drums playing metal, making a huge step beyond the traditional idea of extreme metal, based on the classic sound of bass and guitar. The band formed in Faenza, Italy in 2015 and released two EPs (Ottone Pesante in 2015, …and the Black Bells Rang in 2022), three full-lengths (Brassphemy Set in Stone in 2016, Apocalips in 2018, DoomooD in 2020), a split (Subsound Records Split Series #8 in 2019), and two books of scores. With almost 400 shows all over Europe under their belt, Ottone Pesante are currently destroying a lot of boundaries between metal, jazz, brass, and avant-garde genres.

Scrolls of War is the first album of a concept trilogy about the history of brass music. There was a time long ago when droughts, famines, earthquakes, floods, and epidemics occurred almost simultaneously, within a very short period, forcing peoples to migrate for survival. These mass movements were desperate and caused atrocious and extremely violent wars. The ancients sanctified these wars in the name of a god leading them to victory, delivering the so-called "rules of war." Priests were in charge of announcing the movements of the army to the sound of their trumpets and horns.

Ottone Pesante embark on an imaginary journey through history, mythology, and archaeology in an attempt to analyze and exorcise the historical relationship of brass instruments in wars, starting from a document dating back to the 1st century AD found in Qumran, Palestine at the end of the 1940s: The War Scrolls.

Ecclesia play dark & epic HEAVY METAL heavily influenced by traditional doom. Since their formation as a trio in 2016, this now-fully-formed army of French Inquisitors released the demo Witchfinding Metal of Doom in 2017 and the Aural Music-released debut album De Ecclesiæ Universalis in 2020 for all the sinners around the globe.

Armed with purifying fire, blessed swords, and Holy Rage, Ecclesia's lyrical themes deal with the 12th Century dark medieval age of Holy Inquisition. On Ecclesia Militans, one will find a perfect syncretism between traditional heavy metal and epic doom, recalling the likes of Candlemass, the UK's Solstice, and especially Tony Martin-era Black Sabbath. SLOW - an acronym standing for Silence Lives Out / Over Whirlpool - is a Belgian band founded in 2007by Déhà (We All Die (Laughing), Imber Luminis, Clouds, Cult of Erinyes, Vaer et. al.), playing dark, atmospheric funeral doom. In 2017, he joined forces with Lore B (Ter Ziele) and caught the attention of cult Italian label code666 (Negura Bunget, Ne Obliviscaris, Fen, Messa, Ashenspire etc) and a multi-album deal was signed in late October 2017. In January 2018, the concept album V – Oceans is released to worldwide critical acclaim. One year later, the band decided to re-release their previous album IV – Mythologiae in a revamped, re-recorded deluxe edition. A few months later came the sixth album, titled VI – Dantalion, a 78-minute multifaced demonic monster recorded, mixed, and mastered by Déhà himself at Opus Magnum Studios in Bruxelles, Belgium. After several years, SLOW is now back with their incredible seventh album, Abîmes I.

SLOW's evolution has been noticeable throughout their career: from ambient doom to crushing funeral doom, they have now stepped up everything with skill. Everything for Abîmes I was done in Déhà's studio in Brussels, powered by the perfectly named Blackout Studio, and the result is an amazing analog-driven sound. The album is a continuous story which ends up with the masterpiece "Collapse," filled with Déhà's well-known harsh, guts-rending screams, while Lore's bass and lyrics pound every single ounce of hope.
