Last week’s ARCO performance

A night that moved between shadows and light, noise and silence, presence and disappearance.

ARCO brought a beautifully layered and immersive performance—blending analog textures, digital noise, field recordings, chants, and fragile melodies. A sonic ritual that invited us all to pause, drift, and listen deeply.

We’re grateful to ARCO for this special journey, and to everyone who came, stayed, and listened with intention. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.

ŽEN (HR) – Live Concert

ŽEN, the progressive indie rock band from Zagreb, is set to bring their dynamic sound to the stage. Since forming in 2010 at the AKC Medika squat, ŽEN has been redefining the boundaries of indie rock with their fusion of post-rock, shoegaze, math-rock, vintage synthwave, and experimental electronics. Their intricate instrumentals, layered vocal harmonies, and immersive live performances create an unforgettable sonic journey.
With albums like I onda je sve počelo (2013), Jantar (2015), and Sunčani ljudi (2017), ŽEN has become a defining presence in the ex-YU music scene, performing at major European festivals including Europavox, INmusic, and Colours of Ostrava. Their upcoming album Ciklus, set for release in May 2024, continues their evolution, featuring singles like Uroni u san, Krizantema, and NEDAMISE.

🪇🎙MUSIC WORKSHOPS🎻🎛

During Kolektiv Action, we hosted Guerilla Recording, DJing Basics, and DIY Instrument Building workshops, where participants explored sound, recording techniques, hands-on music-making, and creative education. From crafting instruments out of found materials to learning how to mix and record in unconventional spaces, these sessions fostered creativity, experimentation, and skill-sharing.

Kolektiv & Gnezdo Co-Production

🎶 14th – Jam Session
A powerful night of collective improvisation, bringing together musicians from different backgrounds to create something unique. The session was live-broadcasted on Kolektiv Radio, reaching over 300 online listeners from 10 different countries.

🎸 15th – Ludwig Ludwig Concert
An intense and raw performance from Ludwig Ludwig, blending post-punk and industrial sounds. The concert was also streamed live, capturing the energy of the night for listeners beyond our space.

We’re grateful for this collaboration with AKC Gnezdo—these nights were a true exchange of music, ideas, and community. Looking forward to more!

Kolektiv is a non-commercial community and online radio based in Prizren, promoting underground music from the region and all around the world. One of the main purposes of Kolektiv is to establish a community through experimenting with the new forms of cultural and musical practices. We encourage anyone who is interested, wants to contribute, has ideas to discuss and realize, and is eager to collectively learn through culture and music to be part of Kolektiv. Besides its online platform, Kolektiv Radio runs its own space which is open for music organizations, jam sessions, listening sessions, discussions, workshops as well as for other music and multimedia related activities.

Presentation - Jednostavno rečeno

We invite you to a presentation of the work and practices of Belgrade based collective "Jednostavno rečeno" (Simply Put) in Radio Kolektiv in Prizren, on September 17th and 1930 - Nenad Pinter and Luka Knežević Strika will present two of the publications and the work and experiences in previous several years.

Jednostavno rečeno is an organization whose focus is on researching, collecting and mediating legacies of the industrial heritage of Yugoslavia as reflected in the stories of the country’s important factories. Founded in 2021, the initiative is led by artists, researchers and cultural workers with many years of experience in urban and cultural policies, activism, social security/welfare and contemporary art. Our aim is to bring to light and reexamine specific values of the industrialization period, including the importance of public goods and the heritage of self-governance, which had an immense influence on everyday life, culture,work organization, and social and economic equality.

Through direct encounters and participation, we seek to establish solidarity networks of cooperation with people connected to the former large industrial centers in the country, to collect, document and archive their stories and testimonies and present them to the local, regional and international community.

Through the direct experiences of the workers, the project opens a treasury of ideas and knowledge stored in the memory of the workers, which we see as important resources in democratic innovation today, implementing values of participation and active citizenship in all aspects of society. Our research is channeled through different media such as photography, video, publications, exhibitions, and we foster connections with the local archives, collections, native museums, libraries and other cultural institutions as well as other organizations from the field of culture (both art and heritage), research and activism.

Broadcasting Workshop 📻📡

On September 17th and 18th, 2024, Luka Knežević Strika and Nenad Pinter from Jednostavno Rečeno (Simply Put) will guide a two day workshop aimed at recording and broadcasting a soundscape of late summer Prizren. The main topic will be work and how people in Prizren think about work, the workplace and the relationship of it with the city and other aspects of life. Participants will be encouraged to interview both people they now (friends, family etc.) as well as people in public spaces. The idea is to collectively consider a series of relevant questions and recieve answers from a spectre of people in different stages of life and work experience (from young and even children to retired people). The basic premise to be explored is “How and why do we work and how does it shape our life and experiences of the community and city we live in?”. The aim of the two day workshop will be to collectively produce an hour and a half show that will be published online and presented at Radio Kolektiv in Prizren on September 19th.
