KOLEKTIV KARABASH - OPEN CALL

On Sunday, May 3rd, we are organizing an all day gathering to celebrate the arrival of spring and we are looking for more people to add their ideas to the table!

Karabash is the local name for Ederlezi, a Romani spring celebration marking the Feast of St. George, widely celebrated across the Balkans with music, gatherings, food and time spent outdoors.

Qylhani i Vjetër, where Kolektiv is now located, was once the main bazaar of the city, shaped by craft, trade, and everyday exchange. For this edition, we open the street again for a one day gathering in that same spirit.

This is an open call for anyone who wants to take part and share their work or ideas. We welcome handmade crafts and objects, clothing and merch, flea market vendors, books, zines and printed matter, as well as artists and small presentations.

Please fill the form in our bio or DM us directly with your ideas. Spread the word and let’s celebrate together.

We invite you to share one song you discovered in 2025 and a short story connected to it.

The song can be music released in 2025 or something older that you discovered last year.

The story can be about the artist, why the song stayed with you, a memory, a moment, or anything else you wish.

We will collect all submissions and listen to them together at Kolektiv.
You are welcome to read your story, listen anonymously, discover new music, and make new connections.

You can write your story in Albanian, Turkish, or English.

Example:
Song: I Remember I Forget
Artist: Yasmine Hamdan

Story: Yasmine Hamdan performed at Dokufest in 2016, and I’ve been a fan ever since. She released a new album in September 2025, and I wish Dokufest would bring her back.

Last week’s ARCO performance

A night that moved between shadows and light, noise and silence, presence and disappearance.

ARCO brought a beautifully layered and immersive performance—blending analog textures, digital noise, field recordings, chants, and fragile melodies. A sonic ritual that invited us all to pause, drift, and listen deeply.

We’re grateful to ARCO for this special journey, and to everyone who came, stayed, and listened with intention. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.
