More images on the test flights of Su-30MK2 no. 8535 - the first Sukhoi Su-30MK2 that was overhauled at the local A32 Factory.

After 2 years of sitting in the factory and suffering all kinds of sanctions and difficulties, the aircraft has overcome struggles through local efforts and has successfully conducted its two first flights. The aircraft will continue to undergo many evaluations and trials before delivering it back to the combat units to be declared operational. This is a great milestone for the Vietnamese to maintain its fleet of 10 Su-27 and 35 Su-30MK2 without reliance on foreign partners, strengthening the military's combat readiness amid sanctions against Russia and the changing world situation.

In the latest news, the first Vietnam People's Air Force (VPAF) Sukhoi Su-30MK2 jetfighter has completed heavy maintenance at the A32 Plant. The airframe was rolled out with the new "sugarcane" camo scheme as captured in the second picture, and its first successful test flight was conducted and recorded. The first picture is the same aircraft before the overhaul, with the old camo.

This event projects Vietnam's success in overhauling Su-30MK2 multirole jetfighters at their 1500-hour checkpoint, confirming the capabilities in maintaining VPAF's major combatants without having reliance on foreign partners.

P/s: the logos at the tail were randomly added in Photoshop and are never a part of the actual livery. The project has no relation to the Russian 929th State Flight Test Centre and Vietnam Airlines- whose logos were photoshopped and inserted onto the tail of the airframe in both pictures.

The evolution of the Vietnamese-built XCB-01 armored fighting vehicle, compared to its Soviet basis BMP-1 IFV. What are the differences?

Besides talking about the dimensions of the vehicles that the XCB-01 is obviously bigger and heavier than the BMP-1, XCB-01 also features different armor angle-ing, welding style, and mindset from the BMP-1, disproving allegations of it being a "retrofit BMP-1" a.k.a XCB-01 being built on existing BMP-1 hulls. The XCB-01 has undergone at least a major revision to modify its hull design, making it even more conventional for production while better utilizing the internal space for buoyancy, other combat functions and soldiers' comfort.

The XCB-01 still focuses on the capability to design and build a proper chassis, with its armaments largely resembling those of the original BMP-1, except with the application of 21st-century electronic systems and sensors. Even though, personally, I wouldn't say I love this configuration and I indeed expect upgrade versions utilizing rapid-fire autocannons instead of this somewhat-SPG 73mm smoothbore gun, the current armament configuration of XCB-01 still provides the Vietnam People's Army with great compatibility and flexibility, judging based on the fact that SPG-9 has been the standard-issue battalion-level fire-support armament of the Vietnamese infantry.

Vrooom vrooom 🐧

The first serial XCB-01 armored fighting vehicles have been completed and undergoing test runs at the Z189 Shipyard's final assembly line.

As it said, the XCB-01 project has entered mass (serial) production, with the Vietnam People's Army expecting the initial batch of 18 vehicles. There has been no foreign involvement and cooperation in the project until this moment, with all hulls and armaments being Vietnamese-made (don't argue or idiotically challenge that piece of information since we have all the necessary information to do a full-scale clapback and deal with you guys 1-by-1, each of you).

Another batch of high-endurance "fishing boats" has recently been launched in major shipyards across Vietnam for the Vietnamese maritime militia force, helping strengthen Vietnam's presence at sea.

With not less than 50 mid-sized (300-700 tons) vessels that were planned and completed until this day under the name of "Phase One", this is an initiative of the Vietnamese leadership to help the nation better deal with the changing situation in the South China Sea. Designed by the Military Institute of Ship Designing and built by many shipyards in Vietnam, those militia ships are armed with assault rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, heavy machine guns as well as water cannons in some bigger vessels. The construction of those ships not only improves Vietnam's capability at sea but also benefits the domestic shipbuilding industry a lot, with a huge number of hulls that were ordered by the Government.

This is the footage of a live-fire exercise held at the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) 3rd Regional Command, featuring VCG's one of the biggest active OPVs - the 2500-ton CSB 8001. In the video, VCG sailors are trained with the 7.62mm AKS folding-stock assault rifles, 7.62mm RPD machine guns, B41 (RPG-7) rockets, 14.5mm KPV heavy machine guns, and 23mm ZU-23-2 main gun, which are all principle weapons of the Vietnam People's Army. Worth noticing, target drones have also engaged so the machine guns and autocannons can practice anti-air missions.

Such exercises help improve the combat readiness of VCG personnel.

Bro took an old Vietnamese document for bashing but intentionally cut the part that we could produce the core solid propellants for Igla MANPADS 🗿

First, we need to clarify on the translation: "missile" and "rocket" are both translated as "tên lửa" in Vietnamese. And even though we could not make solid propellant for fancy missiles such as ATGM or Iskander (🗿), we could definitely make propellants for rocket-propelled grenade-type ammunition such as for the RPG (RPG-7, RPG-29, RPG-30) and SPG-9 (not excluding ammunition for 2A28 Grom / HT-73 on BMP-1 and XCB-01) and also we have long made the propellant for the conventional rockets of the BM-21 Grad MLRS, while you guys were struggling getting TOT for R-122 propellants from Czechia and Sokor but ended up the RHan-122 being neglected by your own marinir ;) And if you are wondering about our TV-01/-02 series then...they actually use a derivative of the Grad's propellant - something that we can definitely make, but as mentioned you are even struggling to do it properly.

Second, this id*ot is smart as f*ck when he intentionally cropped away the part that VIETNAM HAS ALSO BEEN ABLE TO PRODUCE THE MAIN PROPELLANTS FOR THE IGLA MANPADS, something that his country is not likely to have capability to do so in the near future. Nice coping efforts *onoha.

And last, this document is dated 2020 which was 4 YEARS ago, and our capability has increased since then. I think that we have now been able to produce the propellant for the AT-3 ATGM and getting close to produce the propellant for AT-4/-5, meanwhile our uncle Viettel has secured patents for heat-resisting composite material construction for rocket-propellant rockets, paving the way for future applications.

Jeez, it's hard to be polite with this level of bad and stup*d intention. And, yeah, please looking forward to our future developments :)

31/07/2024

For the first time ever, Vietnamese military media has revealed images of assembling the domestically developed XCB-01 armored fighting vehicle, hinting that serial production for the XCB-01 has been started. The final assembly is held at the Z189 Shipyard - citing the factory's experience in constructing steel structures - and there are around 19 XCB-01 that should be produced in this batch, according to the number of spare parts and components being ordered that we could find.

This batch of XCB-01 is still using a similar armaments configuration to the BMP-1 with the 'HT-73-1' turret (Vietnamese resemblance of 2A28 Grom) featuring the 73mm 'P-73-01' smoothbore cannon as the main gun; however, the Vietnamese HT-73-01 weapon station is added with a 12.7mm NSV gun mount, and decoys being accompanied by laser warning receivers. This HT-73 is also supposedly compatible with the Soviet AT-3 ATGM and its Vietnamese SACLOS modernization CTVN-18 and is expected to feature a better electronic system compared to the original 2A28 turret.

This development will pave the way for future XCB-01 variants with modernized firepower and configuration using the same developed chassis. The XCB-01 may also become the platform chassis for the Vietnamese PTH-01/-122 project which is reportedly being developed to resemble the 122mm 2S1 self-propelled guns.

-1 "state secret". How do we know that the Vietnamese-built TN-75 midget submarines do exist?

This is the image of three jars, labeled as the seawater collected by a TN-75 submarine during its trial. According to the observable information, those jars were collected from the depths of 52m, 91m, and 156m respectively, dated since August 2022 - 2 years ago. They are also provided with the accurate positions (coordinates) with latitudes and longitudes, however, we censor them because...why do you need to know them so accurately? ;)

It's not propaganda from Vietnam, but we know what we are doing so fine. We are also able to access internal, unofficial, and unpublicized sources of information to our own defense industry to understand how we are doing; and due to their natures being "information not to be discussed elsewhere", it is technically suitable to frame them as "confidential information" and avoid talking about them with so many people, especially with foreigners. So yes, shut up and stop mocking, you don't have information to do mocks and in the near future you can be slapped when the Vietnamese authorities are finally comfortable revealing them ;)

About the TN-75, externally, it resembles the North Korean Yugo-class submarines, however, features newer technologies, combat systems, and slightly different armament configuration (e.g. TN-75 uses 400mm lightweight torpedoes while Yugo uses heavy 533mm torpedoes), and due to the relatively similar appearance, it is practically not easy to recognize if any seen submarine is a Yugo or TN-75. Besides that, the TN-75 is also assigned to the Naval Regiment 196 which is also the combat unit housing the Yugos. This regiment is basically a commando-associated unit that is not subject to attracting too much public attention, and even though we have been operating the Yugos for 30 years or so, information and pictures related to our Yugo fleet are still extremely rare and very limited, let alone the TN-75 which is the newest asset for the regiment.

In conclusion: shut the f_ck up since you know nothing. Instead of mocking us and questioning our transparency, you should better transparently identify if your radars are Iranian or French products first before sh*ttalking here :D

Incomingggggggg 🐧

The first Su-30MK2 airframes have been undergoing overhaul and major maintenance at the Vietnamese A32 Factory after their first 15-20 years of service. The first airframe should be rolled out this year or next year.

This means that Vietnam can do overhaul and life extension for its own Sukhoi fleet without having to send the commissioned airframes to traditional Flanker service providers such as Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine, especially amid the current situation.

The launching of Vietnam Air Defence Force's S-300PMU1/2 air-defense missile system. Vietnam originally bought two S-300PMU1 batteries with a 150km engagement range, however, there are signs that they are upgraded to the S-300PMU2 standards with an extended range of up to 200km and enhanced electronic systems. This video has shown that the control cabin has now been entirely equipped with liquid displays, which is an important characteristic of the S-300PMU2, and it is something that the S-300PMU1 lacks since it uses mainly analog systems.

As one of the core research institutes serving the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) and the Vietnamese defence industry, Viettel Aerospace Institute (VTX) knows the significance of protecting its own facilities, products, and personnel. By that, under VPA assistance, VTX has recently established its own formal military guarding unit that consists of 60 figures who have undergone a 3-month training course at VPA Army Corps 12. They are equipped with standard VPA outfits and AK assault rifles, ready to deal with any security threats and serious trespassing aimed at secured VTX facilities. It can be expected that other Viettel subsidiaries such as Viettel High Tech Corp. (VHT) and Viettel Manufacturing Corp. (VMC) will establish their own uniformed guards too, since they are also responsible for VPA's critical defense industry project, just like VTX.

And yes, a Viettel VELINT18 electronic intelligence system is observable in the background. It is basically the unlicensed copy of the Czechia VERA-NG passive sensors.

Standing there, stronger every day 🇻🇳

The Vietnamese DK1/11 rigs stand amid high waves in the Vanguard Bank (Bãi Tư Chính), a part of the Vietnamese southern continental shelf and exclusive economic zone (EEZ). Located by the east of the highly-contested Spratly Archipelago and the southwestern edge of China's illegal 9-dash-line claim, Vanguard Bank is regularly a hotspot for standoffs and confrontations between the Vietnamese and Chinese, looking at its strategic locations and its nature being an oil and gas-rich area.

The DK1 series of platforms is an initiative of the Vietnam People's Army to build an outpost in offshore areas to help guard the nation's continental shelf and EEZ, besides doing scientific activities and providing assistance to Vietnamese ships & citizens at sea. Those rigs are operated by Vietnam People's Navy personnel and supplied by Vietnamese naval ships. There have been two generations of the DK1 rigs that were designed and built, with the new one being seen as obviously bigger and stronger than its smaller brother in the following picture, and there are about 20 DK1 compounds that have been built and active.

A Scud-B ballistic missile transport-erector-launcher (TEL) vehicle in a showcase at the Brigade 490 under the Artillery Arms of Vietnam People's Army (VPA).

Even though the Scud-B is still nominally declared as having a range of ~300km on public occasions, its range was extended up to 500km (yes, "five hundred kilometers") under the VPA banner. According to the official report (yes, this is not a rumor or fake news), it was successfully live-fired with its new maximum range (500km) in 1994, keeping it still capable enough to be a top-tier strategic strike weapon of the region in modern days despite being a relatively old and obsolete design.

29/06/2024

The ongoing success of Viettel's VCM (Vietnam Cruise Missiles) project has recently attracted attention and acknowledgment from foreign media. From the Vietnamese side, we consider this worth pride and good news that the world has started to recognize Vietnam's achievements, however, it should be mentioned that inaccurate reports are being made due to understandable ignorance, reliance on other inaccurate foreign sources as well as the difficulty engaging with reliable Vietnamese information.

One notable example is this Army Recognition article about our VCM-B system being tested and delivered to one of our naval combat units. It claimed that the VCM-01 is a version of Kh-35UE resulting from a Russo-Vietnamese collaboration. With all of the information that we got, we would like to confidently clarify and refute those pieces of information:

- Contradicting the claims that some of our unfriendly members have used to unreasonably accuse and defame the Vietnamese VCM project, there is no formal and reliable documentation confirming any official and considerable Russian engagement or assistance in the project. In fact, Viettel's internal media and articles have indirectly and directly said that this is almost Vietnam's solo project, and 'the partner' (referring to Russia) has allegedly refused to provide Vietnam with any expected assistance, prompting Vietnam to do the R&D project on our own. In other words, this VCM project does not come from any major Russian assistance, transfer of technology, or any granting of license and production collaboration. To be straightforward, this can be considered a Vietnamese unlicensed copy of the Russian Kh-35E, with the majority of the project consisting of Vietnamese reverse-engineering efforts and domestic developments. And we can appropriately draw the above conclusion using simple logic combined with a known fact: why did we have to look for Ukrainian and South Korean assistance in the missiles' engines if Russia actually participated in the VCM project? Why???

- No, the VCM-01 is not "a version of the Russian Kh-35UE missile". First, it shall be mentioned that the Vietnam People's Navy never has a single Kh-35UE in its inventory, the only version that it has is the original Kh-35E with a nominal engagement range of 130km. Second, leaked and revealed images of the VCM-01 or any of its variants have shown that the VCM actually still uses (copies) the airframe design of the Kh-35E (not UE), with the original Kh-35E-style semisubmerged air duct intake observable in numerous footages, contrasting to the Kh-35U(E) that uses a significantly revised air intake. So yes, again, the VCM is a resemblance of the Kh-35E, not "a version of Kh-35UE" that resulted from any Russian assistance.

- Leaked images have shown that the VCM series also has other variants besides the original VCM-01 utilizing the conventional configuration. Some of the notable derivatives include a damn big land-attack version that derived from the Kh-35 hull but uses a Viettel-patented wing mechanism, a small drone-launched version with a pretty much unusual configuration and Exocet-style four-sided air intakes, as well as another probably-air-launched variant using SLAM-ER-style optronics seeker. Their existence simply doesn't make sense if Russia actually assisted in the project, since unnecessary tweaks exist and should not be made if Vietnam could engage Russia's original design, and Vietnam has also developed variants that went beyond the original Kh-35 capability, proving our own R&D capability that we don't need any assistance from Russia to make the VCM project possible.

And foreign media, instead of guessing and ending up with inaccurate reports, you can just ask us. We are willing to provide you with any information that we know and comfortably answer corresponding to our state's security and Viettel's business matters. Don't bullsh*tting, and don't listen to those who still think that a Vietnamese-made NSV is a "14.7mm" KPV machine gun. Jeez. And please also note that SIPRI's report is largely unaccurate in the Vietnamese case due to the Vietnamese nature of doing silent and classified procurements, usually causing confusions to open-sources observers.

The deployment of an unidentified variant of the Viettel UAV2-X loitering munition (suicidal/kamikaze drone) was revealed by the military channel QPVN during the recent live-fire exercise of the VPA Army Corps 12.

As products of Viettel High Tech (VHT), the UAV2-X series is a fully Vietnamese development. Studying the aerodynamic design of the Raytheon Coyote, the series is designed with many variants featuring different sizes, engagement ranges, and warheads, helping deal with any possible missions from minor assassination to blowing up a whole building.

No specs or further information were revealed about this UAV2-X kamikaze drone series. Everything we knew that it had passed authorities' trials, was featured in the Army's live exercise for further evaluation, used as practice targets for the Air Defence, and maybe waiting for a sizeable procurement from the Army.
And from this, we are not meant to do co**ie propaganda here, but we can now confidently declare that Vietnam is the FIRST ASEAN COUNTRY that is able to design, produce and commission *operable* domestic su***de drones 😌

"Little green men"

A transporter-erector-launcher (TEL) vehicle of a VCM-B coastal defense missile system was in trial with Viettel Aerospace (VTX)'s uniformed personnel.

Judging by the relatively small size of the canister, we guess that it was the testing of the shorter-ranged variant of the VCM(-01) family, predictably having an engagement range of 80-130km. Again, this is our personal assumption with no backed evidence to be provided in the very near future, don't ask us why...

Again, yes, this thing was declared operational and entered service with the first VPN coastal defense unit. Looking forward to a formal reveal of specifications from our uncle Viettel.

No, not just I'm crying but we are all crying 😭

According to a Vietnamese report from the Haiphong Newspaper (Báo Hải Phòng), the first domestically-developed VCM-B coastal defense missile system battery using the VCM-01 anti-ship missiles was delivered to the Brigade 679 of the Naval Region 1, Vietnam People's Navy, marking a milestone that the VCM-01 missiles have formally entered Vietnamese services. Even though no specifications were revealed yet, we can still cry first since it's a big national achievement anyway 😭

Brigade 679 is stationed in the city of Haiphong, which is also the headquarters of the Vietnam People's Navy. Established in 1979, it is the founding unit of the Vietnamese missile coastal defense forces and has then been using the 4K44 Redut missile systems with an engagement range of up to 300km. The old Redut batteries will not be immediately retired and directly replaced by the VCM-B, however, it is inarguable that the introduction of VCM-B into this combat unit will help supplement the old system and enhance Vietnam's capability to protect its Nothern coast and well monitor the whole Gulf of Tonkin.

Congratulations to the whole Vietnam People's Army and the ones that made the missiles - Viettel Group - including its subsidiary Viettel Aerospace who contributed the R&D for the missile, and the whole battery while Viettel High Tech was responsible for the accompanying surveillance radar system!

"Whose?"
"OUR!"

According to a recent report made by the People's Army Newspaper (Báo Quân đội nhân dân), the official newspaper of the Vietnam People's Army, the defense industry of Vietnam has achieved significant milestones in the localization of defense industry products and the minimization of reliance on foreign suppliers and assistance. By that, not even 20% of the developments received technology transfer from foreign countries; meanwhile, the majority of defense products have reached a localization rate (in terms of technology) of above 80%, with some even going above 90%.

Those figures are about popular armaments for the army including infantry rifles and their cartridges (ARs, bullets...); anti-tank guns and their ammunition (RPGs, SPGs); mortar and its ammunition; cartridges for autocannons, anti-air artilleries, land-based howitzers/field guns, and naval guns; naval and supplement ships; optoelectronics and logistical supplies for weapons systems,... With this level of effort, the Vietnamese defense industry is ready to overcome any potential challenge, including the probability of Vietnam suffering sanctions and isolation in terms of materials, technologies, and conventional trading.

-wonyo-

13/05/2024

Is it possible to manufacture weapons with up to 100% localization in terms of production and materials? It may be not so necessary, though a figure close to 100% is possible.

It is worth mentioning that the Vietnam Defence Industry has successfully mastered the specialized material (processed steel) for all small to medium-sized rifled calibers, from small arms to autocannon barrels. In the case of infantry weapons, Z111 – a military-owned factory specializing in small-arms manufacturing, is also able to do all the necessary treatments on its barrels like chrome plating or heat treatment, important steps to ensure the endurance of the barrels in high-intensity usage.
Since it is peacetime and with no sanctions placed upon Vietnam, it is more reasonable not to go full localization, because logically doing that will drain the nation’s natural resources, which are more needed if restrictions happen. For now, the defense industry sources a mix of imported and locally produced materials, enough to maintain reasonable costs while keeping domestic enterprises afloat. However, the technology base and manufacturing capabilities are here should the need for more self-reliance arise.

08/05/2024

Continuing our counter-disinformation campaign, this time is about the Viettel-held Vietnam Cruise Missile (VCM) development project: what is its name, is it 101% local and is it rebranded Kh-35E?

# What is its name?
If you mention the keyword "KCT-15" and call it a "missile", it is enough to declare that you knew nothing about this. No, KCT-15 is not a missile and is never a missile and does not even have the smallest connection to the Viettel-held VCM project. It is the designation for a mockup Kh-35E missile model developed by the Vietnam People's Navy for training and education. Only VCM is the missile development project, and again there is never a missile named KCT-15. At least you guys should read Wikipedia before sh*t-talking.

# What engine does the VCM series use?
Vietnam has indeed approached Ukraine and/or South Korea for assistance, transfer of technology or even buying the whole engine from them. However, there are already pictures showing that Viettel has been producing the compressor parts for the engines, hinting that Vietnam can at least manufacture the most critical parts (or the entire) of the turbojet engines at home. Of course, we are not denying any potential Ukrainian/Korean engagement, however, it can't be denied that Vietnam has good enough capability to handle the most critical components of the missiles.
And there was never a confirmation if Vietnam has chosen the Korean SSE-750K engine over the Ukrainian MS-400 or vice versa, while the probability that Vietnam would use a domestic model (maybe with assistance from one or both of them) can't be ruled out.

# Does the VCM series use Kh-35E's seeker?
NO, we can confidently reject that. There are reliable reports referring that the VCM would use domestically developed Ku-band seekers that are supposedly more powerful and having higher resolution than Kh-35's original X-band seeker. The assertion that VCM uses the same seekers system as the Kh-35 is simply not sourced and purely false, showing the irresponsibility and bad intention of the person who wrote that shiet.

# What is its range?
LOL, we don't even know. We have rumors about a 130km version AND a 300km version with another land-attack version with a range (probably) well beyond 300, but we have no idea where that "180 km" number came from. Stop smoking weeed or copium, ma********ng and then cu***ng in fake facts and fictional figures.

# Is it "1000000000000% local"?
It is practically impossible for any complicated weapon systems to reach an absolute localization rate of 100% in terms of subsystems, components, and materials. There was never a Vietnamese member claiming that the project is 100% local in terms of components, any claiming of 100% is a straw man fallacy that was made up by Indonesian you guys to attack us and falsify our intention. Stop making up fake facts, fake claiming, and attack us by false things of your own.

Again, we are strongly against any bad intention to defame the Vietnamese defense industry and discredit the creativity achievements of the Vietnamese industries. The Vietnamese capability is always presented transparently and we welcome any fair discussion on this. But this kind of intentional disinformation and defamation is stupid and not healthy, while it definitely causes a negative impact on the values of your own community.
