The Basketball W🌍RLD has honored one of our own AGAIN, as Kansas State's Head Coach Jerome Tang has been named the recipient of the prestigious Jim Haney Master Coach Award by Nation of Coaches. This National Honor celebrates a coach who embodies true leadership, integrity, and positive impact on the court, at home, and throughout their community—values Coach Tang has carried with him from his roots. 🇻🇮 🇹🇹
Coach Tang's journey began in Williams Delight, St. Croix, before he moved to Texas. His profound connection to our home never wavered, as he later returned to lead both the Junior and Senior Men's National Basketball teams of the Virgin Islands.
Under his guidance, our junior boys' team achieved historic success, earning two silver medals at the CentroBasket U17 Championships and securing appearances in two U18 AmeriCup Tournaments.
We celebrate Coach Tang, a shining example of Virgin Islands talent and character leading with purpose on the National stage.
While this is indeed a prestigious honor Tang is no stranger to the National spotlight. In 2023 he was the Big XXII and Naismith Coach of the Year.
