The first annual BVI National Surfing Competition had two contests for the men's division: an open and closed event. The Men's Open, like the contest for the four national surfing team places, was won by Rush Broderick, who took home $1,000 for the effort. In second place was Wes Markin, followed by Liam Brosnan and Zebedee Bamford.
Grace Brosnan won $1,000 for her top place finish in the BVI National Surfing Competition in the Women's Open division. The runner-up was Ariella Oliver, followed by Carol Schoonhoven and Victoria Rowlette.
