22 years ago today everything changed. America came together for a few days and supported each other. Then slowly overtime we became further divided than we were before. I still look back at the days following and remember watching the night sky, it was eerie, no planes, just stars. Daily news focused on rescue and recovery. I remember sitting in my truck on the way to work listening to the news, and then watching tv in the break room all day.
Then what happened, government took the opportunity to take freedoms from us and divide us. I was still pretty young, early 20’s, so I don’t remember much about the division between right and left, but I still think we are further divided now than before. I didn’t buy into “conspiracy theories” as easy then. There are still some I don’t believe, maybe I just don’t want to think our government could do what has been said they did. I do know, right and left, they took advantage of an opportunity to invade in our privacy and take more freedom from us.
My heart still aches for those that lost their lives that day and the days and years following. Then those that went to fight for our country, fight for lies, putting soldiers lives on the line chasing lies. I remember wanting to join and chase the ones responsible, but I didn’t. I still honor those that did cause they didn’t know we had no exit strategy.
I want to see our country come back together and be one like we were the days following. But we have greedy, power hungry individuals who will fight to keep their position to their death bed. Right and left they are too old to lead us, to mentally degraded to form sentences. Unable to make through a press conference without having a mini stroke and turning into a zombie. Then they feed us lies to continue to vote for them and keep them in power. We are not electing officials to represent us anymore, this is not a government for the people, they do not work for us anymore. They have used everything they can since that day to take power over us and keep us living in fear of ourselves, our neighbors, our community. We need to take our country back.
