Folks this significant flash flood was not expected. Please avoid travel across all of the okc metro and surrounding areas over the next few hours. We will start to clear out but not before up to 9" of rain has fallen. Widespread 4" + totals are all over central Oklahoma. This will a be long studied event.

We try to get some relief going into next weekend from the heat with increased rain chances but we roar back to 100s like this week. Moral of the story, we need to help build you Dad's and Mom's a sanctuary spot of peace. Imagine a cool room with sound proof walls to relax during this heat. This space is void of crying, fighting, and dogs barking. Your own little paradise. The cost of the build is negated if you factor in the cost of divorce and child support because you didn't have this relax spot.

A meso low is helping lift some stronger storms. I would not be surprised if there are reports of shear funnels in the circled area. Increased wind shear is often on the north east portion a well wrapped up low.

A very wet pattern will set up over the next couple weeks. I imagine river flooding will become a concern as several upper level disturbances will train over the southern plains with substantial moisture in place. The good thing is temps will remain reasonable but wheat harvest will be very difficult for KS southward.

Severe weather update.

Complete cycle as this violent tornado moved through barnsdall ok and was ingested into the line.

High risk tornado day.

Update: Forecast verified. The initial tornado producer in the Texas panhandle looks to have gone up on the outflow boundary I mentioned earlier in the day. Some storms have formed further into ok along this boundary and will need to be monitored in the enhanced low level helicity. Pic in comments As the day progresses, this outflow boundary you see moving northwest across TX and OK could most certainly have a key factor in enhancing this afternoon's severe weather threat. I would bargain that if this slows and we get any storms anchored to it, we will see an enhanced tornado threat similar to yesterday evening. Folks in western OK, northwest TX, and the eastern portion of TX panhandle should monitor the weather closely this evening. This could be another sleeper day. These storms will push east overnight but the tornado risk should be much lower as gets further east, barring any mesoscale accidents.
