Today in Flashback, Savannah Moss, collections and research manager for the Trumbull Co Historical Society, tells us about Kozy Korner Candies. Established in 1955 by Eleanor Fairbanks and Mildred Basile, this beloved shop quickly became a cherished staple of the community.
OH WOW! Begins Construction on A-MAZE-D Exhibit
OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center hosted 30 volunteers to help assemble the new A-MAZE-D exhibit in preparation for the opening of their second-floor space to the public.
The exhibit features a maze made from approximately 250 cardboard boxes. A-MAZE-D, the company behind the design, specializes in creating maze and labyrinth attractions for museums, zoos, aquariums, parks, schools, and similar venues.

Akiva Academy Breaks Ground on Expansion
Akiva Academy held a groundbreaking ceremony at the former Allen’s PharmaServe, across the street from the Jewish Community Center where the school, grades K-8, current makes its home.
The pharmacy building will be renovated, and an addition will be built onto the back to become the new Akiva Academy middle school. It’s expected to be ready for students in January.
The expansion is projected to double the school's enrollment over five years.

Transitioning and Stabilizing at Insight Trumbull
Insight Health Systems has taken on the challenge of reviving two Trumbull County hospitals, once on the brink of closure due to the bankruptcy of Steward Health Care.
While the transition has been challenging, with improvements still underway, Insight Hospital & Medical Center Trumbull has already begun offering expanded services, including a new neuroscience center with telestroke capabilities.
Cindy Russo, Insight Trumbull's president and CEO, discusses how the transition has been going, challenges faced and plans for the future.

Regional Chamber Honors Family-Owned Businesses
The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber honored 20 businesses at its Family-Owned Business Recognition Dinner showcasing the successes and importance of family-owned businesses in the community.
Five of the honorees received a special award during the dinner. The businesses were Cubbison Company, Humtown Products, P. I. & I. Motor Express Inc., Phantom Fireworks and HLW Fast Track.
