1938 – 2024

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of James "Big Jim" Darby, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a pillar of the death care industry. His legacy lives on through his founding of Greenwood Inc. and its family of brands, including Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel & Cremation Center, Trigard, Trigard Memorials, Hall of Fame Plaques & Signs, and Greenwood Plastics Industries.

Big Jim dedicated his life to the cemetery and funeral industry, where his innovative contributions and steadfast commitment to excellence shaped not only the companies he built but the communities he served. With his strong faith as his guide, his work touched many lives, and his influence will continue for generations.

To Big Jim, family meant everything. His unwavering love, support, and generosity will forever be cherished by them and everyone who knew him.

A true visionary and innovator, his spirit will remain an enduring source of inspiration.
