A ball missing its child.
I grabbed this image on Christmas morning of 2023. A single yellow, smiley face ball, left behind, missing its person on Christmas morning. You see it and wonder about its back story. Was it forgotten? Was the ball discarded in the belief that a new ball would arrive under the tree this morning? Did it fall out of a child's hands, a parents bag? No one knows. Regardless, one of the saddest images you can see is a ball missing its child, with it's smiley face looking down towards the concrete surface beneath it, on Christmas morning.
