Just finished the production of Into The Woods with the Wilmington College Summer Theatre group. Had an amazing time with some very talented people. They put on a great show. The energy from the crowds is truly what this job is all about!! Front of house mixing with the m32 utilizing Theatre Mix and Qlab to automate as much as possible so I could keep up with the 200+ page script!! Thanks to Brian Muth and All Axxiss for the opportunity. On to the next!!

It's been a busy few weeks as I have been doing several different things in the realm of A/V. I completed 5 videos I had been working on for a museum in Chillicothe. I have a few more that we're finishing up for them and that project will be done. A lot of time and effort has gone into these and I've been loving it. I found a true passion doing these types of historical story telling projects. I've been doing a few more gigs in Gahanna also doing another Creekside Live job and Cinema Under the Stars. Cody and I had to stand up a huge blow up screen and set up the projector and audio for the movie. The days this summer have been warm to say the least!! But we're getting it done. This month I am helping with the 4th of July in Gahanna and then next week I'm doing the front of house audio with the Wilmington College production of Into the Woods!! I'm excited at the opportunities to do these things I enjoy and can't wait to see what we get into next!!

Another excellent weekend full of mixing and learning at the Columbus Arts Festival. A brief intermission on Friday to mix for the Lucky Penny Sisters at the Creekside LIVE party in Gahanna. They had some amazing original songs that they have written and are recording soon. Leslie and Caitie were great to work with. Then to the round stage to work with Codie Wiggins mixing up the band Hangtime. Saturday and Sunday I was at the Arts Fest and mixing the Word is Art stage. Met some great people and had a good time. Thanks to Brian Muth and All Axxiss for the opportunity. On to the next.

December 3-10 I was given the opportunity to work with these amazing artists as their front of house audio tech. It was the first time in a while that I mixed a play. New computer software and a new way of mixing the show was really interesting too. Did I mention this was in the historic Majestic Theater in downtown Chillicothe?? What a treat!! It was a long week of tech and 4 public performances, but the shows were so good and everyone was so easy to work with. The kids were amazing!! Support your local artists and go see a CCT production if you can. Thanks Brian Muth at All Axxiss for the opportunity and looking forward to doing this again. On to the next.

I had an amazing weekend working at the Columbus Arts Festival with Muth Audio Designs. It was fun working with Brian and the entire crew to make good things happen. Brian introduced me to the Midas Pro 2 console and even let me push a few faders along the way at the main stage. I am very grateful for these opportunities where I get to learn new things and be a part of something so awesome. Good times. On to the next!!

After taking some time off to heal a hurting knee I’m back at it. I managed to have 2 more surgeries on my knee after finding a significant tear in my meniscus was causing a great deal of pain. Because of delays getting surgery scheduled I wound up with a completely ripped meniscus. Long story short the first surgery didn’t help much so I elected to do the full replacement after a 3 month evaluation. Needless to say that was not what I was hoping for, but I’m no longer in the pain I was.

I was able to do the Recording Workshop (now The RecW), classes again the past couple of months and got some great learning time with the M32 digital console, lighting console and the video streaming system that I was helping to set up before my knee sidelined me. Great stuff at the RecW with the new curriculum that includes live sound.

Last weekend I was able to help Paul at the Earth Day celebration in Chillicothe. I was able to help set up and tear down and I got some mixer time as we did the sound for 5 bands including The Basement Collective and The Devil Doves. On to the next….

Another busy couple of days. Wednesday we worked at Pike County Fair doing a production gig for some very impressive talent. Our opening act was Conner Christian. He and his keyboard player, Keegan Ferrel, were both on The Voice this year. Conner has an very unique sound that had the place rockin. The headliner was also from The Voice and is the real deal. Kameron Marlowe and his band threw a party that night that fans won't soon forget. He's also currently doing a tour with Brad Paisley. Amazing talent with both acts and really nice guys. Got to talk about turkey hunting with Kameron and how things were on the Voice show with Conner. Really cool dudes and hope we can work together again.

Next was First Thursday at the Majestic in Chillicothe. Ben True and the Basement Collective put on a great show and played a wide variety of songs demonstrating their great range of talent. From their self written songs to Pink Floyd, they kept the party going.

Next week is Ross County Fair and lots of happenings at the bandstand all week so come out and see us.

On to the next......

What a week!! Assumed torn meniscus in my knee and all, we managed to put on 4 shows in 3 days. Finished a streaming installation job on Wednesday!! Thursday we started the morning setting up for "First Thursday" at the Majestic. Then the afternoon at the fairgrounds setting up trusses for Jeep Fest. Back to Majestic for tear down and we were about 2/3 done and the skies opened up on us. "We were soaked" is an understatement!!! Audio install at Jeep Fest on Friday started around 830 and went all day. A few hiccups along the way and band a couple of hours late because of traffic, eventually the Sweet Tea Trio put on a great show. I ran the light board and had a great time meeting the band. Great talent and they so appreciated our work. Saturday met up at fairgrounds before a gig I did at American Legion with The Wegians band. Took Morgan from RecW with me and let him sit in the captain's chair for a while as he hadn't had that opportunity before. He was a huge help and I was happy to let him try something new. We had so much fun and lots a dancers on the floor, so we must have been doing something right!! Tear down and pack up and back to fairgrounds to catch the end of Shenandoah band. Really great show!! 1245 Sunday morning and finally heading for home.

The one thing to take away from this week is there are undoubtedly going to lots of bumps along the way. What sets you above the others is how you handle the bumps and find a way to succeed!! Same as life, just a lot more heavy things to lift!!

It's been a little while since doing some of what I enjoy doing, but this past month I've been keeping busy with my friend Paul.

First gig was installing some video capture equipment for a local church that wanted to up there capabilities for reaching their congregation at home during covid.

Second was another church that was having issues with their facebook live feed and tying in their sound system. All good now just in time for their Christmas services!!

Third gig was to produce the first ever Rock for Tots telethon. A lot of work went into putting the show together, but it was very cool seeing all the work come out on live tv!!! We broadcast live from the Circleville tv studios and the show went out on the local tv channel and to their youtube channel simultaneously. Learned a lot and ready for more. Lots of things happening so stay tuned. On to the next....

Made a trip to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland this summer with my daughter and took some pics of the early consoles designed by Bob Heil and others. Excellent place that I recommend everyone visit if you can as there are so many historical things to see and read about.

Got to work with Brian Muth and his team this summer during the Festival of the Bells in Hillsboro, OH. We worked with Building 429, Jana Kramer and Phil Vasser and their amazing bands. Outstanding musicians all out of Nashville. Had a great time meeting with the groups and their crews. Here are a few pics from my stage hand position during the shows.

End of the school year was busy as we managed to record 5 more concerts in the last few weeks. The past few months have been a definite learning experience for me in this business. Both in the Audio Engineering as well as the business aspects. A lot to work on but still moving forward.

Had a great weekend working at the Columbus Arts Festival. I got to work with a lot of great bands and run monitors for our stage. Thanks to Brian Muth for the opportunity and all the other great people I met this weekend. Hope we can do it again soon.

Big day yesterday as my journey continues. My first cd produced has now been entered the selling phase. A lot of work went into it as I figured out all the aspects of licensing, royalties, cd duplication, the artwork, media mail shipping, credit card readers, and web storefronts. Bradloughproductions.com is now active and I'm able to take online orders and further advertise my business. I have 3 more recordings currently in various stages of the process, 3 more recordings to do in rhe next 3 weeks and I hope to add a few more before the end of May. Stay tuned.......

Paint Valley High School's drama department put on The Little Mermaid this weekend and asked me to design and run the sound system for them. It was a lot of work but everyone was very pleased with the result. Happy to help them put on their best show ever. The group worked so hard over the last 3+ months and it paid off for them. They did amazing. 16 Samson Synth 7 wireless mics worked perfectly. 30 channel Mackie was packed full, but was flawless. New Samson 1600 watt stage monitors were just what the stage needed. Lots of fun with a great group of young men and women. Thanks to their director Elizabeth Mason for her dedication and the trust she put into me.

July-August, 2015. Attended the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, OH as an alumni. I attended this school in 1987 and had a great time learning the art of recording. I had a good time again and learned a lot about all the things that have changed with the insertion of digital and software technologies.

May, 2015. Got to work with Ben at Blue Room Productions in Herndon, VA. We worked with several bands in the studio and I appreciate all the time and learning experiences I was able to take advantage of.
