Along with the legendary BRUCE SPAULDING FULLER cover, this cover from PUTRID MATT CARR has been retired!

GORE SHRIEK RESURRECTUS VOLUME ONE was originally available with THREE cover variants (the third by DEREK ROOK).

The PUTRID MATT CARR cover was a fan favorite and won BEST COVER for the 2016 GHASTLY AWARDS and won nominations in three other categories that year)! It was a glorious time to be a Gore Shriek fan, ….and it STILL IS!!

GORE SHRIEK RESURRECTUS VOLUME THREE Cover Reveal!

Just like the advert says, this year we are going out with a SPLAT! And if you thought the resurrection was a shocker, …just wait until the funeral!

GORE SHRIEK RESURRECTUS VOLUME THREE will feature TWO Front Covers from artist, Derek Rook in a "Oh-My-Gory" version and a "Yep, Still Gory" version for those with a taste for the sophisticated.

This monumental FINAL ISSUE will also feature 56-pages and 7 brand new cover-to-cover horror stories from artists Derek Rook, Alex Sarabia, Puis Calzada, Michael Harper with special guest appearances by Jeff Zornow and The Gurch!

Returning to helm these splatterific tales will be ROUGH HOUSE Publishing's main scrybe, Steve Van Samson and Mike Wasion! As per all the Resurrectus issues, Volume Three is overseen be series creator and Executive Producer, Tom Skulan!

GORE SHRIEK RESURRECTUS VOLUME THREE is slated for release in Fall of 2024 (No official release date has been set....yet!) GORE SHRIEK RESURRECTUS VOLUME THREE is currently in production and set for a late 2024 release through ROUGH HOUSE Publishing, under license of FantaCo Enterprises. This is set to be the LAST ISSUE in the trilogy of Resurrectus books that began in 2016 at the 30th anniversary of the legendary splatterpunk era release of Gore Shriek #1 back in 1986.

GORE SHRIEK RESURRECTUS VOLUME THREE will be the biggest book of the three releases at 56 pages and like the previous books, will feature a variety of writers, artists and stories to challenge even the most hardened of horror enthusiasts.

Like all ROUGH HOUSE PUBLISHING releases, Resurrectus Volume Three will be available in premium formats and will include a load of extras to make this send off the ABSOLUTE BEST and most robust of the bunch! Get ready for the GORE! This one delivers!

I know, I know... 'Where ya' been all this time? We've been waitin' on ya' here!' Story of my truncated life.
Actually, I was taught long ago never ask a question you don't wanna know the answer to.... so that being said, wanna know the real reason why there's been no ROUGHIAN OF THE MONTH nominations for the past year? Welp, I used low fat milk to dip my cookies in, …and the s**t blew up! (Sigh. It worked when Richard Pryor used that for an excuse.)
Speaking of ROTM, our first nominee on the year wears chainmail bikinis to the YWCA, she swings broad swords at gender reveal parties screaming "Let's split the difference!", she wears skull helmets to LARP half-time extravaganzas, …all this while reading (and collecting) the endless tales of woe and sundry from her firstest favorite brick-layin', break-neck indie publishin' gurus of boo boos. NEW BLOOD CLOT EPISODE!
In the fledgling days of Rough ROUGH HOUSE Publishing we were once offered a chance to work tangentially with the great Tom Savini, putting together the prequel comic book to his remake of Umberto Lenzi's NIGHTMARE CITY, which he was set to direct.

The project never came to pass, but you can read all about the hijinks here and all that could have been. For every one project that gets made, there are thousands bleeding out on the cutting room floor. This was one of them.

If you know me, you know that I don't share my political beliefs nor do I let them dictate my business decisions. Truth of the matter is, I've ALWAYS despised the platform from the very beginning. BOOM!

Your third taste of "BLACK HONEY", is laced with obsession, possibly even madness.

Excerpt from "GROWING JUST BENEATH" by Steve Van Samson

"I never made it back out to my tree that day. Nor the next. In fact, three weeks passed before I was able to gather enough will to once again face the Goddamned bittersweet. By then, most of my cuts had healed and faded into nonexistence. All except the one behind my shoulder. It was that cut my finger was tracing as I stood there, surrounded by dozens of innocuous looking sprouts.

These things are the real problem. I could hear the voice of my uncle. Everything up on that tree is because of one of these little s**ts.

I knew enough to be gentle and the first sprout was lifted easily. But as I continued to pull—gently, slowly, I saw that my uncle had not exaggerated. Bit by bit, the soil began to pop. Like tiny firecrackers going off beneath the grass—all of them in a straight line. Each pop came with a puff of fine dirt and another inch or more of coppery root. It was unbelievable. After a short while, almost an entire foot of the stuff connected the tiny green sprout in my hand to the underground. And the more I extracted, the more I wanted. On my brow was a fever. One that could only be cured by ridding the soil of its affliction. For that too was mine—the very soil along with the tree and every blade of grass.

It was all so clear. So simple. I was the Reaper once again, and by God I would not stop until the harvest was done. The insidious roots had become my nemesis. Every time I thought I was coming to the end of one section, another branch would appear. They were circuits, vast neural pathways, coppery rivers with tributaries uncountable and they were growing—always growing just beneath.

By the time I stopped to breathe, the lawn had been transformed. Around me, where green grass had flourished only hours before, stretched a patchwork of great brown scars. My heart raced, my muscles hummed and the unhealed cut on my shoulder throbbed in time. No quarter had been given, no mercy shown. I looked around for some sign of the sprouts. Those tiny green soldiers that had possessed gaul enough to flank my tree on all sides. But these were gone, slain. Every one, reaped with extreme prejudice."

A taste of something unsavory...
Excerpt from "LETTER TO EVELENE" by Steve Van Samson
You spent half your life helping kids, Evelene—half your damn life. All while I tapped away at a keyboard and made s**t up. I don’t know why we worked for so long, but boil us down to our core components and those are the facts. Do you remember how many kids got out of really bad situations because of you? Forty-one. You probably never knew I kept track but the number is right. Forty-one kids, Evelene. I figured if this really was the dead end of the road, the least I could do was help this one.
I rounded left and then again to turn upon the front lawn. Breathing had become difficult—like rolling-a-boulder-up-a-hill difficult. Good thing my feet remembered what they were there for. Eventually I could see the cars in the drive and the fire pit and past them… I could see the boy. It was all so Goddamned surreal. The closer I got, the more the kid looked flat. Like he was a cardboard cut-out, automatically rotating to prevent me from seeing his face.
“Hey there.” I spoke as loud and steady as I was able. “Ward? Is that your name? Ward?”
The boy didn’t answer. Instead he simply lifted his hands, cupped them around his mouth and called out his question to the malevolent dark.
“Hey,” God, my voice sounded so stupid right then, “I found these… in your room. I think your mom wanted you to have them.” I set the book and card down on the ground. But as I moved so did he, making sure his back faced me at all times. It was then I realized that I had moved so far over in attempting to see his face that I was as close to the tree-line as he was. With wide eyes I stole a glance into the darkness to my right. And not twenty feet away, I could see them. Those damned things were practically in a frenzy, yet not a single one seemed willing to venture a single step towards us. Slowly my head turned back to the boy. “That is your room up there, right? The third floor? It’s pretty cool up there. I like your… books.”
The boy lifted his hands as if I wasn’t there. Who looks for yooouuu? He cried in the haunting tongue of the owls.
