Day 46 update for Ricky, he had another great day full of progress in physical therapy! Thank you Jesus! He had his best day with his best step record today! He did 340 steps this includes steps on sitting machine. He also had a great speech therapy session and ate ice chips which is great because he has had to have all his food thickened thus far. He will have another swallow test this week to check his status. The goal is to be able to eat without the thickening. Right now the thickening is necessary due to chocking. While the speech therapist was working with the ice chips she was trying to get him to use his right hand and he kept leaning his mouth toward the spoon. He finally grabbed her hand and moved the spoon to his mouth, lol! This is just another sign that his humor is still there. Needless to say Melissa and the therapist got a good laugh! This afternoon while Melissa was showing him Tic Tok videos of his work truck he smiled big and said “hey that’s my truck!” If you know him very well you know that he loves his work truck and is very proud of it. If his work buddies are reading this then they will also appreciate this! Melissa will be reaching out tomorrow to his neurosurgeon in Abilene about the skull bone flap that needs to be reattached. He only has 9 more days at UTSW and then he will transition to another rehab. We are still unsure the location as of yet. As always we appreciate each and everyone of you for all the prayers, love, and support❤️

Suprise mid day update for Ricky, we couldn’t wait to show yall what is happening today!!!! 43 days since he has been able to walk! Last time was Christmas Eve before the fall occurred! Thank y’all for all the prayers and please keep them coming❤️
