Growing up, one of the biggest blessings in my childhood was having an aunt like Cindy. Whether it was going on a trip to the zoo or running to the grocery store, she made every memory feel magical. As I’ve gotten older and reflect back to the good times in my childhood, it’s not lost on me how many happy memories I hold dear are because of Cindy. I can easily say that the blessing of having Cindy as an aunt continues as I now watch her take on the role of a “graunt” (great aunt) to the two sweetest two year olds around. When I first created this page, it was with the hope of getting new eyes on the fact that Cindy needs a kidney. Not just because I love Cindy, but because these two kids deserve to grow up in a world where graunt Cindy is there for the trips to the zoo, the soccer games and the ballet recitals, every birthday party, and every small moment in between.
I say all of this not to beg for a kidney from you (although, if you want to donate your spare, let us know!), but more so to ask you to share this post and help us get more eyes on this page so we can get her a new kidney and healing sooner than later!
To know Cindy is to love her and to be loved in abundance by her. There aren’t many people who can endure so much pain, yet always manage to be kind, thoughtful, attentive, and still make the world feel full of color and hope.
