CONSTANTINE 2 (2024) Keanu Reeves Movie

While it would have been interesting to see Reeves become part of the DCU as Constantine, it is better for both the new DC Universe and Constantine 2 that the movie is an Elseworlds project. This way, the DCU can get its own comic book-accurate version of John Constantine in the future, perhaps starting with a role in the upcoming Swamp Thing before a full-fledged Justice League Dark film. On the other hand, by not being part of the DCU, Constantine 2 has a lot more creative freedom.

Not taking place in the DCU also presents an exciting challenge for the movie, as Gunn raised the bar for Constantine 2. The DC Studios co-CEO has revealed that movies developed under the Elseworlds label will need to be really good to get made, with a quality bar higher than the one used to greenlight DCU projects. Based on that, Lawrence, Reeves, and Constantine 2 scribe Akiva Goldsman will have to come up with a unique tale for the movie to make it to screens, which raises excitement for the long-awaited sequel.

Deadpool is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Fabian Nicieza and artist/writer Rob Liefeld, the character first appeared in The New Mutants #98 (cover-dated February 1991). Initially Deadpool was depicted as a supervillain when he made his first appearance in The New Mutants and later in issues of X-Force, but later evolved into his more recognizable antiheroic persona. Deadpool, whose real name is Wade Winston Wilson, is a disfigured mercenary with the superhuman ability of regeneration and physical prowess. The character is known as the "Merc with a Mouth" because of his tendency to talk and joke constantly, including breaking the fourth wall for humorous effect and running gags.

The character's popularity has seen him featured in numerous forms of other media. In the 2004 series Cable & Deadpool, he refers to his own scarred appearance as "Ryan Reynolds crossed with a Shar-Pei" (though in the comic, Reynolds' name is misspelled as "Renolds"). Reynolds himself would eventually portray the character in the X-Men film series, appearing in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), Deadpool (2016), and its sequel Deadpool 2 (2018). Reynolds attributes Cable & Deadpool #2 to what got him hooked on the character and inspired him to bring the character to the movies. He is confirmed to continue playing the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

VENOM 3: ALONG CAME A SPIDER Teaser (2024) with Tom Hardy and Tom Holland

Venom 3's plot remains a mystery. The third installment could move forward with Patrick Mulligan's symbiote, or it could take a major detour from the previous two movies and introduce a non-symbiote villain. Cameos or supporting roles from other Sony Spider-Man Universe characters such as Jared Leto's Morbius, Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Kraven, or Michael Keaton's Vulture are possible, with the possibility of an MCU crossover with Tom Holland's Spider-Man being low, but still worthy of consideration. While Venom 3 likely won't be as crowded as fan trailers set it up to be, the movie will likely be the most ambitious in the trilogy.

Joining Tom Hardy are actors Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor, the latter of which already appeared in the MCU as Doctor Strange's enemy Karl Mordo — though Ejiofor is likely to be playing a new character in Sony's Spider-Man Universe. Venom: Let There Be Carnage's cliffhanger showed Stephen Graham's Patrick Mulligan seemingly absorbing a symbiote, which suggests he will appear in Venom 3, if not as the main villain, then at least in a supporting role. Venom: Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis won't be returning for Venom 3. Instead, Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage writer Kelly Marcel will be making her directorial debut in the sequel.

In the film, Chev Chelios, a Los Angeles–based hitman, is poisoned by the mafia and must keep his adrenaline flowing constantly in order to keep himself alive, while he tries to track down the man who poisoned him. The film was followed by a sequel titled Crank: High Voltage in 2009. Chev Chelios is a Los Angeles–based British hitman who works for a crime syndicate led by Don "Carlito" Carlos. Chelios is contracted by Carlito to kill mafia boss Don Kim as members of the Triads have been encroaching on Carlito's business. Chelios goes to Don Kim and apparently murders him. In the confusion, ambitious small-time criminal Ricky Verona uses the opportunity to conspire with Carlito against Chelios: Verona will kill Chelios so the Triads do not retaliate, and then take Chelios's place as Carlito's new hired gun.

While Chelios sleeps in his apartment, Verona and brother Alex, along with several henchmen break in and inject Chelios with a Chinese synthetic drug which inhibits the flow of adrenaline, slowing the heart and eventually killing the victim. Chelios wakes to find a recording left by Verona showing what he has done. Furious, Chelios smashes his TV and heads out. Chelios calls mafia surgeon Doc Miles, who informs Chelios that to survive he must keep his adrenaline pumping through constant excitement and danger and is unsure if the antidote exists. Chelios keeps up his adrenaline through risky and dangerous acts, which include picking fights with other gangsters and police, reckless driving and motorcycling, taking illegal drugs and synthetic epinephrine and having public s*x with his girlfriend Eve.

Edge of Tomorrow (also known as Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow) is a 2014 American science fiction action film starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt with Bill Paxton and Brendan Gleeson in supporting roles. Directed by Doug Liman with a screenplay written by Christopher McQuarrie and the writing team of Jez and John-Henry Butterworth, its story is adapted from the 2004 Japanese light novel All You Need Is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. The film takes place in a future where most of Europe is occupied by an alien race. In late 2009, 3 Arts Entertainment purchased the rights to All You Need Is Kill and sold a spec script to the American studio Warner Bros. Godzilla x Kong 3 : The Final Days | First Trailer (HD)

Godzilla is famously the King of the Monsters in MonsterVerse canon, with Kong being perhaps the only other Titan who can rival that position (though they seem to have come to a peaceful understanding in Godzilla X Kong). Godzilla earned that moniker by fighting and defeating Titans, so it stands to reason that he will keep his title by continuing to fight increasingly deadly Titans that challenge him. However, as revealed in a MonsterVerse tie-in comic, it seems the perfect villain for the next installment of the Godzilla X Kong franchise isn’t a Titan at all.

In Godzilla X Kong: The Hunted by Brian Buccellato, Dario Formisani, Drew Johnson, and Zid (prequel to Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire), Godzilla is hunting down one of the Titans fans see him fight in the movie: Titanus Scylla. Godzilla’s part of the story is tracking down this deadly Titan as it consumes nuclear power plants for radioactive sustenance, and ends with the battle in Rome fans can experience in The New Empire. Kong’s story, on the other hand, is one that doesn’t directly tie-in to the movie, but sets up a bold new villain for the next one.

Daniel Radcliffe is set to step into the role of Wolverine in an upcoming film from Marvel Studios. Titled "The Wolverine," the film promises to bring a fresh take on the beloved mutant superhero, with Radcliffe poised to make the character his own.

It, retroactively known as It Chapter One, is a 2017 American supernatural horror film based on Stephen King's 1986 novel of the same name. Produced by New Line Cinema, KatzSmith Productions, Lin Pictures, Vertigo Entertainment, and distributed by Warner Bros.[8] It is the first film in the It film series as well as being the second adaptation following Tommy Lee Wallace's 1990 miniseries. The film tells the story of seven children in Derry, Maine, who are terrorized by the eponymous being, only to face their own personal demons in the process. The film is also known as It: Part 1 – The Losers' Club.

The film is directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Chase Palmer, Cary Fukunaga and Gary Dauberman. House of the Dragon Season 2 | New Final Trailer | Max

House of the Dragon season 2 could see one character take on a similar role to that of Lady Stoneheart from George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire books. Lady Stoneheart is the resurrected form of Catelyn Stark, found after the Red Wedding and brought back to life by the Brotherhood Without Banners. "Life" is best used loosely, as this version of Catelyn cannot speak, is visibly scarred, and only craves one thing: revenge. Catelyn ought to have appeared in Game of Thrones season 4, based on how it adapted the books, but the show opted against her inclusion.

Lady Stoneheart will likely have a bigger role when The Winds of Winter eventually releases, but there could be a replacement of some form found in House of the Dragon season 2. Plenty of the show's characters have certain similarities to those in Game of Thrones, without being direct copies - Alicent Hightower has shades of Cersei Lannister, Larys Strong is a Littlefinger type character, and so on. So it is that, building on from House of the Dragon season 1's ending, there's potential for a version of Catelyn/Stoneheart as well.

John Wick is an American neo-noir action-thriller media franchise created by screenwriter Derek Kolstad and owned by Summit Entertainment. Keanu Reeves plays John Wick, a retired hitman seeking vengeance for the killing of the dog given to him by his recently deceased wife, and for stealing his car. The franchise began with the release of John Wick in 2014 followed by two sequels, John Wick: Chapter 2 on February 11, 2017, and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum on May 17, 2019. All three films were considered critical and commercial successes, accumulating a collective gross of more than $587 million worldwide. A fourth installment, John Wick: Chapter 4, is in pre-production and has a release date of May 27, 2022. A fifth installment is also in development, and it will be shot back-to-back with the fourth film in 2021.

John Wick is on the run, being hunted with a $14 million open contract on his life for breaking a foundational rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim, Santino D'Antonio (Riccardo Scamarcio) was a member of the High Table—the organization that ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed but Continental's manager, Winston (Ian McShane), has given him a one-hour grace period before he is "excommunicado"—his membership revoked with him banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses favours and contacts accrued in his former life to stay alive as he fights his way out of New York City. In October 2016, Stahelski announced the development of the third film. Top Gun 3: Cosmos – Trailer (2025) Tom Cruise, Miles Teller

Although Top Gun: Maverick did introduce a slew of new characters to the series, one deleted scene will make it harder for Top Gun 3 to get viewers invested in them. Top Gun was a singularly focused movie despite the presence of memorable supporting stars like Val Kilmer’s Iceman and Tom Skerritt’s Viper. Director Tony Scott’s cult classic is the story of Tom Cruise’s Maverick through and through, with viewers following the feckless test pilot through the dizzying highs and devastating lows of the titular flight school. In contrast, Top Gun: Maverick’s story gave its supporting stars more screen time.

By Top Gun: Maverick’s ending, it was clear that the sequel was still firmly focused on Cruise’s character. However, Miles Teller’s Rooster got a lot of screen time throughout the movie and viewers got intriguing glimpses of other interesting supporting stars such as Glen Powell’s Hangman and Jon Hamm’s Cyclone. While Top Gun 3’s story could expand on the sequel's thinly-sketched character arcs, one problem from Top Gun: Maverick doesn’t bode well for this possibility. Top Gun: Maverick cut a scene that would have made two of its supporting stars more important, giving their screen time to Maverick instead.

BATGIRL Teaser (2024) With Jenna Ortega & Margot Robbie

Batgirl is an unreleased American superhero film based on the DC character Barbara Gordon / Batgirl. Produced by Burr! Productions and DC Films for the streaming service HBO Max, it was intended to be an installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film was directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah from a screenplay by Christina Hodson, and starred Leslie Grace as Batgirl, alongside J. K. Simmons, Jacob Scipio, Brendan Fraser, Michael Keaton, and Ivory Aquino.

Development of a Batgirl feature film began with Joss Whedon in March 2017, but he left the project a year later. Hodson was hired to write a new script in April 2018, with El Arbi and Fallah hired to direct in May 2021 when the film was confirmed as an HBO Max original. Grace was cast that July, followed by additional castings—including Keaton reprising his role of Bruce Wayne / Batman from Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992)—and filming took place in Glasgow, Scotland, from November 2021 to March 2022. In August 2022, DC Films and HBO Max parent Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) announced that, while the film had entered post-production, the studio no longer planned to release it in 2022 as scheduled due to the company's cost-cutting measures and a refocus on theatrical releases.

A Harry Potter and the Cursed Child movie is likely to happen sometime in the future, but it would need to fix the stage play's most unforgivable flaw to succeed. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child debuted in 2016, continuing the story from J.K. Rowling's books and Warner Bros.' movie adaptations. The play picks up when Harry and his friends are in their late 30s, and it follows the adventures and struggles of Harry's youngest son, Albus. The Harry Potter play has had a successful run in London's West End and on Broadway, though it's received its fair share of criticism from longtime fans.

To be fair, The Cursed Child does make changes to the original canon that don't make much sense, particularly when it comes to the usage of Time Turners and Voldemort's characterization. These are story problems a Cursed Child movie would need to fix, as they'd likely be noticed by fans of the original Harry Potter movies. However, there's one even greater flaw that a film adaptation would need to address — and doing so could create bigger problems for the plot.

Director Denis Villeneuve explains why he left an imperfection in Dune: Part Two. Continuing the story of 2021’s Dune, the movie follows protagonist Paul Atreides as he teams up with Chani to seek vengeance on those who destroyed his family. The upcoming Dune: Part Two features a star-studded cast including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Javier Bardem.

Speaking with The New York Times, Villeneuve explains why he left one imperfection in Dune: Part Two. In the interview, the director was asked about a shot wherein Pugh dons a headdress that is not on straight, but rather is sliding down her nose. Villeneuve explained that “part of him tried to do it perfect” due to his predilection towards faultlessness, but he ultimately realized that “life is chaos” and “life is stronger.”

KRAVEN THE HUNTER – New Trailer 2 (2024) Aaron Taylor Johnson | Sony Pictures (HD)

There are several reasons why Venom 3 and Kraven the Hunter could avoid the lingering negative reception from Madame Web. For Kraven, The Aaron Taylor-Johnson-led film is the first Sony Spider-Man Universe film to be rated R. The trailer showed lots of bloody violence, and a more mature and gory superhero flick could be something that attracts audiences. Also, the character was recently featured as a central villain in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 video game, so there is a boost of popularity that could help the film at the box office.

Meanwhile, Venom 3 is riding the success of the previous two Venom films, so it could escape the poor perception of this universe. The first two Venom films weren't hits with critics, but audiences still showed up, and Tom Hardy's performance as Venom gets people in theater seats. Sony's Marvel universe is in trouble right now, but Kraven the Hunter still has time to course-correct the franchise after Madame Web.
