This is my favorite artist video this year. Bobby Goldsmith at work with a pencil and eraser, building the beach that never leaves my mind, with somebody picking a single steel string in the background. Here is a YouTube video Robin Frisella made at the height of Covid. It's a long and loose tour of her New Hampshire studio.
There are many pastel artists at the Festival. It's a wonderful, compelling medium. Many use pastel to create beautiful impressionist color fields and landscapes. (Banister Pope did that ... And he is still one of my favorites) But Frisella takes pastel much further. Her still lifes are photo realistic. Photo realism with pastel!
