The majority of our Saturday is in the 30s with clouds and spotty light showers. Mainly south of the Triad. Sunshine returns Sunday and we'll warm up big time next week into the low and mid 60s. Slight chance for a few showers by next Friday. But the overall pattern is dry and warm.

As of this post (12-30-25) there is NO snow signal for the Carolinas. A few, NOT all models have hinted at some wintry weather around the 6/7th but the trends for that continue to go away. It looks like we'll warm back into the mid and upper 50s next week. Can't snow with those temps. It's also looking VERY DRY. The light Rain chances for Saturday are also going down. Drought conditions continue to get worse in the Carolinas.
I know a lot of people love snow and want it bad, but please, stop listening to those people trying to get clicks and likes as they hype long range models. Anything beyond 7 days is just garbage. We literally just entered winter a week ago, we have a long ways to go. So plenty of time for snow this year.

Authorities have confirmed that a barricaded suspect fired shots at a police officer before retreating into a residence on the 4800 block of Baux Mountain Road.

Fortunately, the officer was not injured in the incident. The suspect remains inside the residence, and the situation is described as active and ongoing. Police are continuing their investigation into the standoff.

Breezy and cold Tuesday across the Triad. Mainly dry this week with temps warming into the low 50s and morning lows in the 20s and 30s. Rain chances increase Saturday, but not a lot.
