Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest on Interstate 20

Tallulah – Earlier today, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop F conducted a traffic stop on a white Jeep for a speeding violation on Interstate 20 in Madison Parish.

During the encounter, Troopers detected an odor commonly associated with ma*****na emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of over 100 grams of suspected ma*****na and a stolen G***k 30 handgun.

The backseat passenger, Kelton Marshall, admitted ownership of the contraband and gun. Further investigation revealed Marshall was wanted on active fugitive warrants from the Russell County Sheriff’s Office in Phenix City, Alabama, for r**e and attempting to elude.

Marshall was arrested and transported to the Madison Parish Jail, where he was processed for the following charges:

• Possession of ma*****na
• Illegal possession of a stolen firearm
• Possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS
• Fugitive warrants for r**e and attempting to elude.
