CRIS Radio, with a 43-year history of serving Connecticut residents with vision impairment or other disability that makes it difficult/impossible to read printed material, is seeking an all-around โutilityโ individual to join us as a part-time team member. In this position, you will: (1) edit newspaper and magazine programs recorded by our volunteers; (2) record programs as needed; (3) train and assist volunteers with our recording software; (4) pack and ship our specially tuned radios to new listeners; (5) provide telephone support to new listeners on using our radios; (6) assist in maintaining our database, and other administrative tasks as needed; and (7) assist the Operations Director as needed in the daily operation of the Windsor studios and our 5 regional studios within the state including trouble shooting minor tech issues.
The successful candidate will need to have experience in audio editing, excellent communication skills, computer knowledge, an interest in current news and events, a collaborative team work ethic, and a desire to help others. This is a long-term part-time position of 15-18 hours per week, primarily mid-days with occasional evening or weekend responsibilities.
