LOCAL: Craig Jungwirth was arrested in Orange County, Fla. and is set to be extradited to Broward County. Wanted on multiple warrants, Jungwirth has a history of scams, violence, and threats against the community.

Craig Jungwirth has been arrested in Orange County, Fla. and is expected to be extradited back to Broward County soon. He was arrested Sept. 19.

A&E: Gov. DeSantis cut $32M from the arts budget, targeting LGBTQ+ spaces. In response, Our Fund Foundation awarded $300K to 16 arts agencies to support diversity and inclusion in Florida's art scene.

DeSantis cut $32 million in state grants approved by the Republican-controlled legislature in the state’s $116.5 billion fiscal year 2025 budget.

There was a time, not so long ago, that Florida was the swingiest of swing states. From the “hanging chads” disaster of 2000 which handed the White House to George W. Bush to razor-thin races for governor and senate through 2018 all barely tipping Republican.

LOCAL: SunServe's annual Transgender Body Positive Beach Bash offers a safe, joyful space for trans people to feel empowered and loved. With support from AHF Pharmacy and FLUX, the event breaks down barriers, creating an inclusive day at the beach.

Labor Day weekend at the beach is for everyone. Hotdogs, laying in the sand, and splashy fun are all part of the package. Once again, SunServe opened the door to inclusion by holding its annual Transgender Body Positive Beach Bash.

LOCAL: Richard Gray, who started Fort Lauderdale's first LGBTQ campaign in the '90s, is retiring. From a $35K budget to $1M, he's drawn 3.4M LGBTQ visitors yearly and pioneered inclusivity, including the trans community.

In the early 1990s, Fort Lauderdale was dealing with spring breakers, the LGBTQ community was migrating from Key West to Miami Beach, and Wilton Manors was a “bedroom community” that rolled up the sidewalks at seven.
