Prayers for Western NC
Pender EMS & Fire has posted on their page an urgent call for donations. Their first need is WATER for our fellow North Carolinian’s out in Western NC. This has been organized through emergency management in the devastated areas. This confirms they will be more prepared for the delivery and will not overwhelm the already struggling systems in the place.
Wednesday they will make a delivery of other goods. Here is a list of items that are needed:
- Plastic totes w/ lids (not too large as they are harder to lift when filled) These make organizing & transporting supplies easier but once emptied they are available to victims in the area to store anything they may be able to salvage from their damaged homes.
- Femine Hygiene Products
- Baby Items (diapers of all sizes, pull ups, wipes, formula, toddler meal shakes, pouches, snacks, bottles, pacifiers, ointments, medicines, etc)
- Adult Diapers & bed pads of all sizes
- Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Plastic utensils, paper plates
- Non perishable food times. (Powdered milk, try to find cans with pop tops, instant rices, fruit cocktails, kids snacks and easy to eat items for elderly)
- Manual can openers
- pet food & supplies (wet & dry foods for cats & dogs, leashes, collars, cat litter & litter boxes, food/water bowls)
- Contractor trash bags
- Cleaning supplies: brooms, mops, scrub brushes, buckets, etc.
- First aid supplies & wound care such as sterile saline, ointments, etc)
- NEW SOCKS of all sizes
- Camping tents, sleeping bags, new/clean linens & pillows
The list goes on as so many over a wide spread area have lost everything! This isn’t a full list of needs but it is a start.
— As most know, I live in Burgaw so please use me as a drop off location in Wilmington and I’ll deliver items. —
