#5 - Live Perpetual Change - Jon Anderson and The Band Geeks ☆☆☆☆1/2

I missed the chance to see this show, in my own backyard in Wilmington, Delaware, at the Grand Opera House. To me, Jon Anderson is the best one to sing these Yes songs. The Band Geeks are SOOOO good, you don't even notice the difference. Released March 25th. Lots of LIVE albums this year....

#6 - Nebraska '82 - Bruce Springsteen ☆☆☆☆☆

At the time of its original release date in September 1982, I was more into the rocking Bruce Springsteen and I really didn't like it. Too slow, too mellow. Why didn't he make 'Born To Run Again', 'Darkness On The Edge of 8th and Orange', 'The River II - Flooded My Damn House' ? I kinda shrugged him off, plus I was getting into heavier bands at the time. My best friend, who's an avid Bruce fan told me "one day you'll like it". I did and do, but not till I saw Bruce live about 4 or 5 times. Now he throws together this box set with Live songs, early versions of BITUSA songs, demos of Nebraska songs, and included is 'Electric Nebraska'. To me, that's the one I wanted to come out, but I really have come to love acoustic Nebraska (Remastered).

#7 - The Hives Forever, Forever The Hives - The Hives ☆☆☆☆

Hailing from Sweden, this is one of those "The" bands in the late 90's/00's (Strokes, White Stripes, Black Keys). I bought their 2000 CD 'Veni Vidi Vicious' and really liked it. Their later albums didn't really latch onto me, but this one, their 7th, did. Released on August 29th, It's fast, infectious and fun to drive to. My poor steering wheel taking heavy riffs on this one. I dig this whole album.

#8 - Kick 'Em Where It Hurts (Live) - Pretenders ☆☆☆☆1/2

And like it when they do it! They put on such a great show, and here, their 7th LIVE album, they play a handful of songs from the last few albums, and of course a few oldies. Still sounding great after all these years.

One of my favorite bands and albums of all time, the debut album played live, in order, some in the way they perform now on stage. I can't get enough of this band! Released June 20th.

This 4 song LIVE EP came out on May 21st. Recorded in England, 4 songs that were from the opening night show, reflect the times we're all living in at the moment.

#11 - Get. Switched. On! - Creem Circus ☆☆☆☆

Local Independent Philadelphia band Creem Circus, led by custom guitar maker Chris DiPinto, roars back with a 10 cut album, released March 15th, that's fun, rockin' and to the point. If you dig 70's glam rock, you'll like these guys. Standouts for me are 'Switched On', 'Oh No, Rock and Roll', 'Riff Down', 'Hardly Working', and my favorite, 'Get With The Power'. Catch them LIVE as well. Always a good show.

#12 - Who Believes In Angels - Brandi Carlile and Elton John ☆☆☆☆

Released April 4th, I probably would have skipped over this album by Brandi Carlile, but when I heard that Elton John was on the record, and with their scorching songs they played on SNL, I checked it out. I was pleasantly surprised to how good it is.

#13 - Dream Into It - Billy Idol ☆☆☆1/2

Released on April 25th, Billy's 9th album has that 80's 'Rebel Yell' vibe. Two singles included 'Still Dancing' and '77', with the latter song remix dueting with Avril Lavigne.

#14 - Roll With The Punches - Bryan Adams ☆☆☆1/2

On his 16th studio album, Bryan doesn't pull any punches (See what I did there). This man still writes catchy pop/rock songs that still get you singing the chorus. How can he not be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is beyond me. Released August 29th.

#15 - Saving Grace - Robert Plant w/Suzi Dian ☆☆☆1/2

Released September 26th, Robert Plant's 12th album has him credited with Suzi Dian. Three singles were released, 'Everybody's Song', 'Gospel Plough', and 'Chevrolet'. Go see him on tour in 2026!

#16 - All Washed Up - Cheap Trick ☆☆☆1/2

Still going full throttle with their 21st album released on November 14th, they keep churning out good music and touring extensively behind everything they release. Robin Zander still sounds incredible. Rick Nielson still plays guitar with ease. 'The Riff That Won't Quit', 'Bet It All', and the title track 'All Washed Up', are my favorites here. They are far from being Washed Up.
