We're looking for a great editor to manage incoming projects and create amazing content!
Editing content at etc. media requires that you are:
A Good Storyteller
Our projects are often unscripted interview-based, documentary style portraits of people with interesting stories to tell. There is rarely a linear path from the raw footage to the best version of that story. It's the journey between those two points that will determine your fit here as an editor.
Efficient
Finding the story, and improving an edit is a process, and it takes time. No matter how you approach material review, rough cuts, and final tweaks, we understand there is no forcing it. But, it is important that our editor(s) attack the process in the most efficient manor possible.
Well Rounded
Our work is very diverse. We incorporate animation, heavy visual effects, motion graphics, and 3D animation...as well as in-house sound design. The more complex projects will be a team effort, but the more you bring to the table, the more work we can give you. Audio editing for podcasting will be an additional bonus skill that the ideal candidate would possess. The software being used will be Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, Mocha, Cinema 4D, and Audition for audio.
A Good Hang
We want confident applicants, but don't need you to prove that you know everything there is to know about editing. A person that has diverse interests in music, travel, pop culture, and thinks creatively is going to fit in really well here.
Experienced
The proof is in the pudding. If you show me a sick demo reel, and can back up the fact that you edited everything yourself...then, well...most of this other stuff is implied in the work.

If you don't have a demo, but are very passionate about editing, we are willing to help guide you to become a great editor. However, this type of position would be considered an unpaid internship. If you dream of this being your career, and really love the work, then please mention it to us. Don't be afraid to go after something that you really want, even if you think you're unqualified!
